The 24 Heures du Montauk: Automotive Masterpieces in Motion

As a seasoned car enthusiast with decades of passion for the roar of engines and the beauty of automobiles, I must say that the 24 Heures du Montauk has become my annual pilgrimage. This event is not just about the gleaming chrome and polished paintwork; it’s a gathering of like-minded individuals who share an unspoken bond over their shared love for these magnificent machines.

The 24 Heures du Montauk‘s fourth edition recently traveled along the beautiful roads of the Hamptons, mesmerizing auto lovers with a mix of unique cars, breathtaking ocean vistas, and a laid-back, friendly ambiance. This exclusive, invitation-only rally takes place the day before the Bridge event and is cherished by car enthusiasts seeking more than just a car exhibition.

The event was initiated by Rory Tait of Rally and Hootan “Hootie” Rashidifard from Valve & Piston. It started with 150 participants gathering at Daniel Arsham’s studio in Bridgehampton. From the artist’s garage, a convoy of 65 thoughtfully selected vehicles, each carrying 150 guests, embarked on a scenic 40-mile journey through the Hamptons, culminating at Dive Bar Pizza in Montauk.

Instead of a typical rally, the 24 Heures du Montauk places great importance on the joy of driving and bonding with auto enthusiasts. As Tait explained, “It’s just as much about the people and their tales as it is about the vehicles.” The laid-back atmosphere and focus on mutual passion have made it a must-visit event for those who are lucky enough to participate.

Despite the previous comments, the variety of automobiles significantly enhanced the thrill of the event. The array ranged from timeless vintage classics to contemporary supercars, with Luca Betti racing his Kimera Automobili Evo37, joined by iconic Ferraris such as the F50 and F40. Modern wonders like two Ferrari 812 Competiziones were also on display, along with Arsham’s artistic creations, the RUF RCT Carbon Evo and a captivating Vanilla Yellow Porsche 993 Carrera S. Other notable cars included an Aston Martin DBR2, Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, Porsche 959, and a Bugatti Chiron.

Beyond simply showcasing exotic automobiles, the rally provided a distinctive opportunity for car owners to savor their vehicles in the way they were designed to perform. As Rashidifard expressed, our aim was to organize an event that transcends just the cars themselves, encompassing the sounds, scents, and sensations associated with them.

As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about hosting the kickoff for this year’s rally right here in my garage! It’s an annual event I eagerly anticipate, catching up with community friends and witnessing some truly remarkable automobiles.

24 Heures du Montauk, albeit one of the newer rally events, demonstrates no signs of waning popularity and is steadily establishing itself as a significant event within the industry. This is evident through growing sponsorship from major players such as Graniteshares, Sotheby’s Motorsport, Singer Vehicle Design, and others. With this backing, we anticipate the event to gain increasing prominence in the automotive lifestyle sphere over time.
