As a seasoned gamer of political satire, I must say that the lineup for The Daily Show during the Democratic National Convention is nothing short of exhilarating! Having followed their journey since the turn of the millennium, it’s like revisiting an old friend who’s come home after a long hiatus.
The Daily Show has arranged its list of guests, along with its lineup of hosts, for the Democratic National Convention.
The late-night comedy show on Comedy Central will temporarily move its studio to the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture in Chicago’s Lakeview district during the convention. This venue is a few miles north of the United Center where the main activities are taking place. Here’s a picture showing the set-up, with the iconic Chicago skyline as a backdrop.
According to an announcement made by The Hollywood Reporter in June, Jon Stewart will be hosting a live show on Thursday, concluding the convention’s events. Earlier, The Daily Show had intended to attend the Republican convention in Milwaukee in July; however, they decided against holding on-site shows following the attempt on nominee Donald Trump’s life. Now, the whole week’s schedule has been finalized, with the show’s correspondents stepping up as hosts from Monday through Wednesday, and a list of guests confirmed.
Here are the hosts and guests for each day’s episode:
Since 2000, The Daily Show has made regular visits to the major political party conventions, except for the year 2020 when the show was produced remotely (and the conventions were significantly reduced) due to the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
