As a seasoned gamer of reality TV competitions, I must say that this final week of Dancing With the Stars Season 33 has been a rollercoaster ride for me. From the very first episode featuring Stephen Nedoroscik to now, with Ilona Maher’s heartwarming goodbyes, it seems like just yesterday when the season premiered.
The upcoming episode of “Dancing with the Stars” is set to reveal the winner of the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, and I’m eagerly counting down the hours! This season, the 33rd installment of the popular reality dance competition, has been gracing our TV screens according to the 2024 schedule. Last week saw an unexpected twist as they announced the final five contenders, adding another thrilling moment to this action-packed season. As we approach tonight’s grand finale, the remaining couples have completed their last rehearsals. A recent post by Ilona Maher made me realize just how swiftly the time has passed.
It’s amazing how quickly time flies – it’s already time to decide who will win the trophy after DWTS Season 33 premiered back in September. On Monday, during their final rehearsals, Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher and her partner Alan Bersten posted an Instagram video with the caption, “We might miss each other just as much as you will.” The video’s caption reads, “On our last day together,” showing them hugging tightly while a soundtrack playing in the background refers to a short flight lasting 20 minutes.

As a gaming enthusiast, I must admit, Maher and Bersten have undeniably won the hearts of viewers this season. Their performance during Disney Night, particularly when she nailed it with her amazing Encanto dance, has been an unforgettable highlight for me. It’s been truly enjoyable watching her evolve as a dancer.
I’m eagerly anticipating their final showcase, particularly their freestyle, but the thought that this will be their last dance together in the ballroom is stirring up some emotions. It doesn’t help that Maher shared another Instagram video, a montage of moments from her and Alan on DWTS, expressing gratitude for his partnership.

Beyond just the emotions, it’s worth noting that everyone at Dancing With the Stars has been putting in a lot of effort to perfect their final dances. Even though they’ve been competing against each other for weeks, the contestants are still enjoying each other’s company, as evident by the official DWTS Instagram post featuring the final five on the last day of rehearsals.

It seems like dance champion Stephen Nedoroscik was unveiled as the initial celebrity contestant for Season 33 only recently. Now, he’s gearing up for the finals alongside partner Rylee Arnold, who is participating in her first final as a professional. In an emotional Instagram video published by DWTS, they exchanged heartfelt farewell messages to one another. I swear it’s not me tearing up; you must be.

Among Nedoroscik, Maher, and others, this group is particularly unique, and deciding which pair will take home the Mirrorball Trophy will be quite challenging. At this stage, the winner could potentially be anyone, so make sure you don’t miss the climactic moments of this swiftly passing adventure as I eagerly await its conclusion.
To catch the last act in this competition, simply tune in to “Dancing with the Stars” at 8 p.m. ET on ABC or stream it live if you have a Disney+ subscription. By the end of tonight, the new owner of the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy will be revealed, and I promise you’ll see me as emotional and reflective as all the competitors.
