As a fan and follower of the dynamic world of media and entertainment, I am thrilled to pieces about Liz Culley’s recent appointment as VP of Entertainment Sales and Head of Special Projects at The Hollywood Reporter (THR)! With over a decade of experience under her belt, Culley’s impressive background in the industry is nothing short of inspiring.
On Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that they had appointed Liz Culley as Vice President of Entertainment Sales and Head of Special Projects.
In her fresh position, Culley will collaborate with advertisers to design tailored integrated marketing strategies that span THR’s various platforms. Her main focus will be on capitalizing FYC Awards chances and podcasts, experiential events, as well as unique projects. Based in Los Angeles, she will report to THR’s senior vice president Lori O’Connor and president Joe Shields.
Over a 12-year period, Culley has worked within the entertainment and media industries. Prior to her role at THR, she served as the executive director for FYC and entertainment sales at Condé Nast. During this tenure, she designed advertising and partnership strategies for leading film studios, leveraging high-profile events like The Met Gala, Vogue World, and The New Yorker Festival. At Condé Nast, she’s also known for boosting the experiential offerings of Vanity Fair’s FYC campaigns, particularly by taking the podcast Little Gold Men to live audiences.
“Liz adds a vibrant, inventive spirit to our THR team, according to Shields. Her ability to craft strategic partnerships for our entertainment clients aligns perfectly with THR’s emerging collaborative and pioneering work environment, especially as we ramp up our For Your Consideration Awards coverage investment,” is one way to paraphrase the original statement.
Initially, Culley embarked on her professional journey as a producer, crafting exclusive digital-first shows and musical/theatrical events starring renowned artists, for prestigious entities like Myspace, PopSugar, YouTube, NBA, and X Games. Before joining Condé Nast, she served as a senior sales executive at Bustle Digital Group, where she constructed content and immersive advertising campaigns for major brands such as Genesis, Lexus, and The CW.
As a gamer, I can tell you that THR is really killing it in the digital and social scene, leaving our competition in the dust. With top talent like Liz joining our team, along with some other exciting announcements coming soon, we’re doubling down on video and social content, and the results are truly impressive in this market.
As a thrilled gamer, I can’t help but express my excitement about being part of the team at The Hollywood Reporter! To me, THR pulsates as the lifeblood of our entertainment world, and its ability to engage with new fans who share our passion for all things entertainment is boundless.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m deeply immersed in the industry. I serve on the board of LPAC, contribute to the discussions within Soho House’s committees, and share my insights through my entertaining podcast.
News about Culley’s appointment arrives following the impressive performance of The Hollywood Reporter at the SoCal Journalism Awards last month, where they bagged a grand total of 11 first-place awards. Among these victories were accolades for best website and Print Journalist of the Year, awarded to Rebecca Keegan.
