The Old Guard 2 Release Date and R Rating Confirmed

Since wrapping up production in 2022, action enthusiasts have been anxiously anticipating the premiere of The Old Guard 2. The plot revolves around them when they uncover someone has learned their secret, causing them to battle to preserve their liberty. The initial release received widespread acclaim (80% on Rotten Tomatoes) and was viewed by 72 million households in its first month, making it one of Netflix’s most successful premieres.

‘The Old Guard 2’ Will Pick Up Following the First Movie’s Cliffhanger Ending

Under the direction of Victoria Mahoney, with a script penned by Greg Rucka again, the sequel to The Old Guard, titled The Old Guard 2, features Charlize Theron reprising her role as Andy/Andromache of Scythia. Joining her is KiKi Layne as Nile Freeman, Marwan Kenzari as Joe/Yusuf Al-Kaysani, Luca Marinelli as Nicky/Nicolò di Genoa, Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker/Sebastian Le Livre, Vân Veronica Ngô as Quỳnh, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as James Copley. The upcoming film The Old Guard 2 will also introduce Uma Thurman from the Kill Bill series and Henry Golding from Snake Eyes, who will take on unspecified roles within the franchise.

Netflix has further disclosed that the upcoming action sequel continues where the previous installment left off, with a character from Andy’s (Charlize Theron) past resurfacing and demanding vengeance after the cliffhanger ending.
