THE SKATEROOM Releases Roy Lichtenstein Collection

As a passionate art enthusiast and skateboarding aficionado, I am absolutely thrilled about THE SKATEROOM’s latest collaboration with the iconic pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. The collection is a perfect fusion of two worlds that I hold dear to my heart: fine art and skateboarding.

As a passionate gamer and skateboarding enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! In the world of THE SKATEROOM, we’ve recently unveiled our newest collaboration – an extraordinary collection created in partnership with iconic pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.

The series begins with Lichtenstein’s “Girl in Mirror” piece from 1964, showcasing a stunning blonde woman reflecting in a handheld mirror and smiling. This artwork is enlarged through a skateboard design that noticeably reduces its size for the vertical, elongated format. Following is a depiction of “The Drowning Girl” from 1963 on a trio of skateboards. The complete painting is displayed, including the renowned phrase, “I Don’t Care! I’d Rather Sink – Than Call Brad For Help!”

In another piece from 1963 titled “Varoom!”, Roy Lichtenstein uses an explosion image to satirically comment on the romanticized portrayal of war in comic books during that era. Lastly, his 1964 artwork “Happy Tears” undergoes a transformation as it displays only a portion of the woman’s face – one eye and a narrow slice of her mouth. Despite showing fewer details, the powerful emotion conveyed by this painting remains palpable, challenging viewers to determine if the woman is expressing joy or sadness.

As an avid gamer and a huge fan of THE SKATEROOM, I’m no stranger to collaborations. They frequently incorporate the masterpieces of renowned artists like Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Yoshitomo Nara into their skateboard designs. These collections are perfect for me and other loyal fans of these legendary artists, as well as budding art collectors who find inspiration in the unique skateboard format.

The Skateroom website offers Lichtenstein’s collection, ranging from $220 to $550 in price. Feel free to check it out and make a purchase there. (Alternatively, You can find and buy the Lichtenstein collection on The Skateroom website for between $220 and $550.)
