'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' Returns To Theaters For 50th Anniversary

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with a soft spot for classics, I can hardly contain my excitement! The return of Tobe Hooper’s timeless masterpiece, “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” to the big screen is like a dream come true. Having grown up hearing tales of Leatherface and his chilling family, it feels surreal that I’ll get to experience this terror on the silver screen in all its 4K glory.

To mark its 50th anniversary, the classic horror film “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” directed by the late Tobe Hooper, is being re-released in cinemas.

The classic 1974 film “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” is making a comeback on the big screen! A restored 4K version of the movie is set to be released simultaneously with its original premiere date. You’ll be able to catch it at over 900 theaters including Regal, Cinemark, Cineplex, Marcus, Harkins, and every Alamo Drafthouse location, along with the Music Box Theatre’s grand auditorium. It will run from Halloween until the first weekend of November.

In a chilling horror movie reminiscent of classics, Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, Allen Danziger, William Vail, and Teri McMinn portray a group of friends who encounter a family of cannibals during a journey to a rural estate. Contrary to its initial presentation as a true-life depiction, most of the narrative is fictional. However, certain elements and the character of Leatherface were influenced by Ed Gein, a notorious individual known as the Butcher of Plainfield.
