As a seasoned gamer and music enthusiast with a penchant for cutting-edge technology, I can barely contain my excitement for The Weeknd’s latest venture, “The Weeknd: Open Hearts.” With a rich history of immersive gaming experiences under my belt, I’ve always yearned for that same level of immersion in my music consumption.
As his new album approaches, The Weeknd is leaving no stone unturned in the release process. His latest project takes shape as a unique collaboration with Apple, which was initially unveiled back in July when Apple announced their upcoming series of Immersive Video content for the Apple Vision Pro. Now, four months later, and his groundbreaking streaming initiative is finally here, set to be available on devices worldwide later this week.
According to a recent press statement, the event named “The Weeknd: Open Hearts” represents Apple’s first foray into immersive music experiences through Apple Immersive Video. This experience takes advantage of an exceptional 180-degree media format that combines ultra-high-resolution immersive video and Spatial Audio to make viewers feel like they’re right in the middle of the action.
Under the direction of Anton Tammi, this immersive audio-visual production will be accessible for streaming on the Apple Vision Pro from November 14th onwards. Alternatively, you can have a preview of it at your local Apple Store starting from November 15th.
