As an old-school gamer with memories of waiting in line for midnight releases and countless hours spent exploring galaxies far, far away, I must say I’m both excited and cautiously optimistic about Star Wars Outlaws. The roadmap Ubisoft has laid out looks promising, with new story packs, exclusive missions, and cosmetic bundles on the horizon. However, as someone who’s been around long enough to remember some less-than-stellar post-launch support for games, I can’t help but feel a bit apprehensive about the paid Season Pass reveal before the game even launches.
Story Highlights
- In a new blog post, Ubisoft has revealed the Star Wars Outlaws Season Pass roadmap.
- The roadmap includes a lot of post-launch content, like exclusive missions, story packs, and more.
- It was well-received for the most part, but some players are unhappy with the paid Season Pass reveal.
In their latest blog update, Ubisoft has unveiled the plan for Star Wars Outlaws, detailing post-release content. This roadmap includes information about Season Pass offerings, confirming the arrival of two story expansions, a unique mission, a character collection, and two aesthetic packs. The special mission and character set will become accessible post-launch. Nevertheless, the initial story pack is scheduled to debut in fall 2024, with the second pack following suit in spring 2025.
In the unique operation called “Jabba’s Strategy“, Ubisoft guarantees that other players can interact with the character during their adventures in the open world as well.
As a long-time fan of this game, I am thrilled to share that two new story packs are coming our way as part of the Season Pass, and they will also be available for standalone purchase. For those who grab the Season Pass, you’ll receive the Kessel Runner character pack featuring outfits for scoundrel Kay Vess and her companion, Nix, right at launch. Not only that, but you’ll get access to an exclusive mission called ‘Jabba’s Gambit.’ With my years of gaming experience, I can confidently say this is a fantastic addition to the game, and I can’t wait to delve deeper into these new stories!
Not Every Player Is Happy About The Paid Season Pass Reveal
Although the overall sentiment towards it is generally favorable for multiple reasons, there are still quite a few individuals who express dissatisfaction with the unveiling of the roadmap. The revelation that a paid DLC will be available for a single-player game prior to its release has prompted some fans to cancel their pre-orders. Furthermore, given Ubisoft’s history, many are prepared to hold off on purchasing Star Wars Outlaws until it goes on sale following its launch.
