As a film enthusiast, I must say that “The White Lotus” is a captivating series revolving around affluence, vacations, and intricate human relationships (or the lack thereof). Set in one of the luxurious White Lotus resorts, each season commences with the unsettling discovery of a corpse, followed by episodes that gradually unfurl clues about the victim’s identity and demise. Now, as we eagerly anticipate the thrilling season finale, I can’t help but share my speculations on who might not make it through this tropical sojourn alive.
It’s quite plausible that multiple characters may meet their demise. Keep in mind, many of the characters who perished during Season 2 were only introduced in Episode 3. However, we suspect one character from this list could be the next casualty, considering the opening sequence, the series’ recurring themes, and the pattern of deaths in Seasons 1 and 2. Alternatively, they might not be the first to die but rather the one who pulls the trigger.

Chloe
In the latest season of “The White Lotus,” Charlotte Le Bon plays a character named Chloe who is paired with Greg. Unfortunately for Greg, things didn’t end well with his previous wife, Tanya. Unlike in Season 2, where Greg was pursuing Tanya’s wealth, this time Greg himself holds the financial power. This makes it seem unlikely that he would kill Chloe since there’s no benefit for him. However, if she were to discover his past wrongdoings, similar to Belinda, there’s a chance that he might take steps to silence her before she exposes him.
Mysterious, but Not Really at Risk
Currently, it appears that Chloe is more likely to end her relationship with Greg rather than face harm from him. She seems deeply dissatisfied in this arrangement, which might not even be a genuine relationship but a paid position, as Rick put it. Regardless, besides Greg’s wealth and her budding friendship with Chelsea, Chloe doesn’t seem to have strong ties to the resort, suggesting she may leave soon.
Following her questionable encounter with the Ratliff brothers, it appears that Greg is now recognizing Chloe’s true nature and has shared some distinct sexual preferences of his with her. However, Saxon declined an opportunity to satisfy Greg’s intimate wishes. Although Chloe might be unfaithful and prone to wandering, she’s determined to keep wealthy Greg by her side, and for now, she hasn’t become a significant annoyance to him. (So far,)

Sritala
Represented by Lek Patravadi, Sritala serves as one of the proprietors of the White Lotus in Thailand. She oversees the resort’s health-centric aspects and is also a major performer there. She recently disclosed her intention to travel to Bangkok to see her husband, Jim. This news piqued Rick’s interest, leading him to contemplate his own visit to the city following Sritala. Although it’s uncertain if Sritala is a significant target individually, her link to Jim — and consequently Rick — may eventually lead to her downfall.
Caught in the Crossfire
Following Rick’s accusation towards Jim regarding his suspected role in the death of Rick’s father at their residence in Bangkok, he found himself incapable of firing a shot and instead shoved him to the ground before departing with Frank (Sam Rockwell). The vibrant character Sritala might unintentionally find herself embroiled in the crossfire of their dispute or even take matters into her own hands for revenge. Given her affinity for the spotlight, becoming the tragic heroine of Season 3 could certainly make her a standout figure.
7
Chelsea
In a more conversational style: Aimee Lou Wood’s character, Chelsea, is full of energy, honest, and gives off an ominous vibe. Her partner, Rick, describes her as a machine gun, and she swears to make him content even if it costs her life. In the first episode, Chelsea’s attire resembles protective armor, and, as we discovered from Jennifer Coolidge’s character Tanya, clothing choices in this show have deeper meanings that hint at something about the characters. However, considering her statements like “I almost died” in Episode 2, it seems quite evident that Chelsea might be the one in danger, or perhaps she has already been a victim of some sort.
On the Attack
Could it be possible that instead of being the victim, Chelsea is actually the shooter? The opening sequence provides several subtle hints suggesting there’s more to her character than meets the eye. For instance, Aimee Lou Wood’s name appears alongside a leopard consuming a deer while she gazes menacingly at a hunting dog. If we interpret this symbolically, Chelsea could be depicted as the dead deer, indicating her demise might be imminent. However, given the context of a leopard being a predator, it seems more likely that Chelsea is the leopard, poised to attack.
After having two close calls with death, Chelsea cautions Rick about the possibility of a third misfortune approaching, hinting at a potentially lethal climax. The number three seems significant in this season, as it’s recurring in various aspects such as the trio of long-term girlfriends on vacation, the three Ratliff children, and even the discovery that three Russians are the brains behind the resort’s gift shop heist. Additionally, there’s a chance Chelsea might find herself in danger after Rick confronts Jim, the person he suspects of murdering his father. We can expect more details about their past to surface soon.

Belinda
In an unanticipated twist for Season 3, the character Natasha Rothwell portrays, named Belinda, made her appearance earlier in Season 1. During this time, she provided Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Tanya, with a massage and they developed a friendship of sorts. However, their bond was strained when Tanya refused to back Belinda’s business venture, resulting in heartache for Belinda. Now, Belinda finds herself in Thailand as part of a professional development program. At first, she was overjoyed by this change, but there are hints that this seemingly idyllic location could instead lead to difficulties.
The Greg Problem
In Episode 7, Belinda reluctantly consented to talk with Greg, following repeated urging from her son Zion. Throughout the season, she had been troubled by suspicions about Greg’s role in Tanya’s (Greg’s ex-wife) death and had grown more and more apprehensive. Her understanding of the situation could potentially endanger Greg, prompting him to take drastic measures such as eliminating her for self-protection.
Yet, rather than providing Belinda with peace, he proposed a sum of $100,000 as a means to keep her quiet. Amid Zion’s pleas for his mother to accept the money due to fear of Greg’s retaliation, Belinda upholds her strong ethical principles and refuses to compromise with evil. The mounting tension between Belinda and Greg suggests an intense confrontation in the final episode is imminent.
Following the sounds of gunfire at the start of the season opener, Zion starts searching for someone and reacts with shock upon discovering a corpse – however, if the person were Belinda, he might have moved towards the body instead of running away from it. Meanwhile, Natasha Rothwell’s name is shown in the credits alongside an image of a crane looking at its reflection in water (and the body was discovered in the same location). We believe this connection is too clear-cut – just as the depiction of Sam Nivola’s name, or Lochlan, with a boy in the water. Instead, we interpret the crane as symbolizing Belinda on a quest, and we hope she finds what she’s searching for during her journey.
5
Gaitok
Gently and consistently kindhearted character named Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) has faced a series of emotional and mental hardships throughout the season, as he yearns to gain recognition from his superiors at the resort and nurtures a long-standing affection for Mook, whom he wishes to court. After being attacked during the hotel’s boutique robbery and humiliated by his peers, Gaitok receives a gun that ultimately turns out to be more of a hassle than an asset for the security guard.
Gaitok Makes a Stunning Realization
Following their long-awaited consent for a formal date, Gaitok escorts Mook to a Muay Thai match – a venue he had earlier shared with her, “I’m not fond of causing harm.” However, his reluctance towards violence left Mook feeling let down. Yet, Mook stands firm and argues that fighting is a basic human instinct, despite it contradicting Buddhist teachings. As they watched the fight, Gaitok recognizes Valentin who played a significant part in the resort robbery.
As a diehard movie buff, I can’t help but feel that Gaikok is about to step up and unleash his inner warrior, ready to defend the White Lotus at all costs. This could lead to an intense showdown with Valentin and his posse, a confrontation that might escalate into a hail of gunfire. It’s worth noting that Gaikok has proven himself a formidable marksman, having demonstrated his shooting prowess at the range. In fact, I have a feeling it could be Gaikok himself who is responsible for those ominous gunshots we heard in the opening episode, hinting at the tension to come.
4
Rick
From the moment Walton Goggins’ character, Rick, first appeared, there was a noticeable air of peculiarity about him. Previously mentioned, he harbored a strong affection for Sritala’s husband, Jim, after learning from his dying mother that Jim might have been involved in the death of Rick’s father. Was it Jim who killed Rick’s father? Or could it be that Jim is actually Rick’s dad, with Rick being misled by the information he received? Whatever the truth may be, their encounter doesn’t seem to bode well for either Rick or Chelsea, and could possibly result in one of their deaths.
Rick Finds His Closure
After holding deep-seated hatred and rage for most of the season, it seems like Rick experienced a release or emotional relief following his encounter with Jim and choosing to spare his life. This change is evident as he joins Frank for celebration and appears to be finding genuine happiness and tranquility. However, this doesn’t ensure that Jim won’t seek revenge for being pushed and confronting him at home under the pretense of wanting Sritala for an American movie role. So, Rick may need to stay vigilant in the final episode.
In the show’s opening sequences, we see Goggins’s name next to an individual isolated in a tower at the start. In Season 2, Coolidge’s name was shown alongside another solitary figure in a tower (without the monkey outside), and as noted earlier, her character passed away during that season. Interestingly, Coolidge’s name ranked second in the Season 2 title sequence, while Bartlett (who portrayed Armand) held the top spot in Season 1. Remarkably, Goggins’s name appears third in the credits for Season 3. Since these lists are typically arranged alphabetically, this arrangement could simply be a coincidence or it might hold the key to unraveling the show’s mystery.
3
Timothy
As a member of the Ratliff clan, I find myself, Timothy, embroiled in some questionable financial maneuvers. Though the specifics remain somewhat veiled, it appears that my associate Kenneth, portrayed by Ke Huy Quan, is involved in money laundering activities. The specter of imprisonment looms large, and I can feel the noose tightening around me. This impending doom may compel me, or another party, to resort to drastic measures.
Timothy Continues To Spiral
Desperate to flee his overwhelming anxiety and dread, Timothy resorts to secretly taking his wife’s medication and considering Gaitok’s firearm, as he frequently contemplates suicide due to his business mistakes, envisioning a tragic end for himself, Victoria, and Saxon to save them from an uncomfortable life. Aware that jail time is inevitable and that his actions would impact his family, Timothy searches for the gun in episode seven but is shocked when it’s nowhere to be found.
In a quick 60-second teaser for the finale, Timothy plucks a fruit from what locals call the “deadly tree,” with an assistant cautioning him, “Don’t eat it.” The blender belonging to Saxon receives special attention, leading one to ponder if Timothy might concoct a unique smoothie using the prohibited fruit in an attempt to spare his loved ones from grief and embarrassment.
2
Laurie
In our list of possible characters who might become victims, Laurie (portrayed by Carrie Coon) stands out. She’s a complex individual, prone to acting impulsively with a firearm, which makes us suspect she could be a victim rather than an aggressor. It would be unexpected for her to be killed by one of her companions, given the indication that she herself might be the one wielding the gun. This twist aligns well with the emotional depth and tragic undertones of The White Lotus, as it could depict a woman who feels neglected by her friends coming to terms with their lack of genuine concern for her.
Other Clues
In Season 2, Jennifer Coolidge is shown next to a monkey during the opening sequence, and later in Season 3, her character’s friends joke about mistaking her for a monkey after she made noise against the glass. Interestingly, Parker Posey (who plays Victoria) is now shown with two monkeys in the opening credits in this season, but the monkey reference earlier might be a subtle nod to something more significant that could unfold later in the storyline.
Furthermore, Coon’s name is featured prominently in the opening credits, accompanied by an elephant amidst carnivorous animals, with bird-like characters Jaclyn and Kate observing. It’s not hard to believe that Laurie might be betrayed by her friends, considering she’s growing increasingly distant from them. In the second last episode, a disillusioned Laurie chooses to abandon Jaclyn and Kate for a Muay Thai fight with Valentin instead, resulting in an embarrassing encounter with Aleksei that ends in a hasty escape when his girlfriend arrives. The final scene of the episode leaves us on edge as Laurie is seen slipping away in a taxi.
1
Greg
In the realm of captivating TV series like “White Lotus,” I found myself scrutinizing the character portrayed by Jon Gries – now known as Greg or Gary in Season 3. This fellow is quite the enigma, one could even argue he’s the most morally questionable figure within the show’s intricate tapestry.
In a chilling twist during Season 2, he orchestrated Tanya’s attempted murder and tragically took the life of his former flame, Quentin, in the process. Yet here we are in Season 3, and it appears that Greg has lost all semblance of regret or remorse. The fact that he reappears on our screens after such a shocking turn of events leaves viewers with bated breath, wondering if justice for Tanya might finally be served.
Our Thailand Dream
The positioning of Greg on our list is partly wishful thinking, yet there are strong indications that this prediction could come true. To begin with, if Greg is being reintroduced to the series, it’s likely he’ll have a significant part in this season. Secondly, Tanya’s body was discovered in the water in a position similar to that of a Season 3 corpse, suggesting a possible repetition for Greg. Lastly, an intriguing fan theory suggests that Tanya could have been reborn as a monkey seeking vengeance, making it plausible that one of these monkeys might seize a gun and eliminate Greg.
Essentially, the hints are undeniably present, and Greg’s demise, though seemingly predictable, paradoxically becomes unexpected. It aligns with his character development, and it would leave audiences contentedly fulfilled if it transpires. If the previous season revolved around Tanya pursuing her Italian dream, we anticipate this season to focus on our own Thailand adventure and bringing an end to Greg’s tyranny.
