Varun Dhawan recalls shooting brand video covered in blood and mud on Citadel Honey Bunny sets; ‘It takes me two hours to have a bath’

As a dedicated follower of Varun Dhawan‘s career, I must say that his journey is nothing short of inspiring. His transformation from romantic and comedy films to high-octane action roles showcases an impressive versatility that sets him apart.

Varun Dhawan, known initially for romantic and comedy roles, has demonstrated his acting flexibility in recent projects. His latest appearances include Citadel’s Honey Bunny, where he garnered acclaim for his intense action sequences. More recently, the actor shared a backstage story about an arduous shoot day when he had to clean himself for over two hours to remove mud and blood from his body following the scene.

During an open conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Varun Dhawan discussed the difficulties he faced while filming intense action sequences for his first OTT series. He likened the set to a scene of disorder as they filmed with explosions, mud, and blood. The demanding stunts, chases, and high-energy scenes frequently left him feeling hurt.

Sharing a funny story, Varun mentioned that one time, his management requested him to film a brand video, but at that moment, he was already caked in mud and blood from the shoot.

The actor found himself stuck in a predicament, and he swiftly grabbed a fork while filming the advertisement under the same tight circumstances. He forwarded the video to his team to demonstrate the challenging position he was in.

As an ardent admirer, let me share how Dhawan put it: “Gosh, these folks knew I was smack in the middle of a filming session. I was caked in mud and aching, yet they insisted on filming the video! The question is, how do I pull that off? It takes me a good two hours just to clean up after the shoot!

During the discussion, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, his fellow actor on the show, added her thoughts. She mentioned that she observed him filming the promotional video later on. In response, the actor of Bhediya explained that he had taken a bath and filmed it the following day.

Varun’s dedication left an immediate impression on The Family Man actress, as she acknowledged that she wouldn’t have managed the same level of commitment herself. (Paraphrased)

Instead, we could say: Amusing everyone with his remark, Varun candidly admitted, “I enjoy earning money, you see.” This straightforward statement about his dedication revealed the secret of his tireless efforts.

The show “Honey Bunny at Citadel” is a spin-off from the popular American action series called simply “Citadel.” In this new version, Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kashvi Majumdar, Kay Kay Menon, and Sikander Kher will be playing key roles.
