‘Voyager’ Character Harry S.L. Kim Returns in ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Final Season Trailer

As a long-time Trekkie with memories of Ensign Harry Kim etched deeply into my starship’s navigation console, I must say it feels like a homecoming to see him return in the final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks. Garrett Wang’s distinctive voice brings back nostalgic feelings from Voyager, and I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement seeing Kim rise through the ranks among the underdog crew.

In an exciting twist, I, as a dedicated gamer, find myself thrilled to see Ensign Harry S. L. Kim, a familiar face from Star Trek: Voyager, making a shocking comeback in the trailer for the fifth and final season of the animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks, streaming on Paramount+.

Garrett Wang provides the voices for multiple Kims in the official trailer, exclaiming at one point with astonishment, “Hold on now, everyone! This Kim has two spots!” Thus, he is a Starfleet lieutenant on a crew that’s an underdog, aiming to ascend from the lower decks of the U.S.S. Cerritos.

Kim singles out his competitors and queries, ‘Are you all still Ensigns?’ The upcoming season’s trailer hints at more playful antics, such as the mission to fix ‘holes in space,’ or ‘space potholes,’ in the Alpha Quadrant.

As a Star Trek: Lower Decks gamer, I’m diving headfirst into a whirlwind of chaos! An Orion war, fierce Klingons, diplomatic disasters, and mind-boggling mysteries are just part of the adventure in this season. The curtain will rise on the fifth and final 10-episode run on October 24th, with new episodes dropping every Thursday, all leading up to the grand finale on December 19th. It’s gonna be one heck of a ride!

In the final season, the voice actors are Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Eugene Cordero for their respective characters. Meanwhile, the bridge crew is voiced by Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O’Connell, Fred Tatasciore, and Gillian Vigman.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is created by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, a division of CBS Studios dedicated to animation, in collaboration with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Mike McMahan, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth all take on the role of executive producers for this production.

Titmouse is the animation studio behind the television series, which can only be streamed in the U.S. and Latin America on Paramount+, and is distributed globally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
