FX‘s new comedy series Adults gave a unique spin to its promotional plans.

Last week, the highly-anticipated debut of the show was commemorated with an event called “Suds and Sounds,” which involved activations and parties at two laundromats: The Laundry Room in Culver City and LaundryBee in Sunnyside, Queens. Beginning its run on FX this Wednesday, you can also catch up on the series the next day by streaming it via Hulu. The show, titled “Adults, ” revolves around a group of young adults residing together in a New York City house, striving to lead virtuous lives.

At both venues, the immersive celebrations began with a grand opening night event, followed by public access the next day. Attendees were given laundry cards and claimed free T-shirts, laundry bags from vending machines branded with the event, in addition to bodega treats, espresso beverages, themed cocktails, tarot readings, and music by DJs.

From the event, Jack shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “The theme of this show truly resonates with me. For a young New Yorker like myself, laundromats are an essential part of daily life’s tapestry.

Kenya Hardaway Green, FX Network’s senior vice president of integrated promotions, shares that they wanted to introduce the show in a surprising manner. The series was developed by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, who are well-known for their work on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Notably, Nick Kroll is one of its executive producers.

Green explains, “The concept of laundromats as a destination was suggested, and from there, the idea started developing. We pondered over transforming an everyday chore like laundry into an extraordinary event tailored for our specific audience. By blending surprising elements with the practicality of the location, we created the ultimate house party atmosphere. It seemed appropriate to launch the season in this way.

Speaking for herself, Freyer commended the innovative chance for viewers to feel the show’s excitement. “What I admire about FX is their knack for being exceptionally inventive,” the actress expressed. “I have faith in every creative choice they make. This unique, intriguing atmosphere is captivating. I absolutely adore it.
