As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about XDefiant adding Capture the Flag mode has me excited! This classic game mode is a staple in multiplayer shooters and its absence from Ubisoft’s shooter lineup was always a bit puzzling.
XDefiant, which has created a splash in the multiplayer shooting game scene, will now offer an enjoyable experience with the introduction of a classic game mode. It’s surprising that this mode isn’t yet available in Ubisoft’s other shooter titles. However, there’s still room for growth and addition of new features.
Some dedicated fans have been rummaging through the game files, as reported by VideoGamer, and have found evidence suggesting that the popular Capture the Flag mode is set to make a comeback. Although an exact launch date has yet to be announced, it’s likely that this feature will debut during Season 1.
1. “Capture the Flag is a common gameplay mode in multiplayer shooters, sometimes called something else, but it generally follows the same regulations. It’s intriguing to see if XDefiant introduces any changes to this mode, though it might be best not to fix what isn’t broken.”
For those new to the concept, Capture the Flag involves two opposing teams aiming to seize each other’s flags and return them to their own bases. The process might seem straightforward, but keep in mind that teams are constantly engaged in attempts to eliminate one another in order to secure these flags. In XDefiant, if this game mode is indeed introduced, expect similar levels of excitement and confusion.
Ubisoft’s shooter game has made a strong debut, shattering records with players enjoying it greatly. Given the abundance of free-to-play shooting games today, the fact that this one is attracting fans is quite an achievement. As long as the fanbase stays engaged, Ubisoft intends to keep enhancing the game with new features like modes and weapons.
The business is strongly committed to expanding XDefiant, going so far as to scrap Project Heartland (The Division’s new game) in order to dedicate more resources to it. With three multiplayer shooter games currently under their management (XDefiant and two Rainbow Six titles), this could represent an optimal balance for the company.
XDefiant is readily available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
