In a few months, you’ll want to head back to the ballroom as Dancing With the Stars Season 34 kicks off its schedule in fall 2025. The lineup has started to take shape with Robert Irwin, a conservationist, and Alix Earle, a social media sensation, being the first stars confirmed. As of now, it’s uncertain who else will join them. However, there have been whispers that Michael Strahan might give dancing a try, which would surely be a treat to watch!
The ex-NFL player maintains a connection with DWTS’ home network ABC, serving as an anchor on Good Morning America. Additionally, he has been featured on the dance competition series before, albeit not as a contestant; in 2023, he even served as a guest judge for Season 32. Now, one of the current hosts is attempting to bring him onto the show.
DWTS co-host Alfonso Ribeiro appeared on GMA earlier this month and said that a certain former Giants player would be great on the show, so Strahan took it as his cue to show off moves:

Despite being a fleeting dance, as Strahan was informed that was all he’d receive, it turned out not to be so unpleasant. Given that commuting between New York and LA weekly might prove challenging, I’m confident Disney would offer some leniency for Strahan to participate in Dancing With the Stars while continuing his co-anchoring duties on GMA. Moreover, he would simply be the most recent athlete to join the competition, and they usually excel on the show.
It’s unclear if Strahan will join Dancing With the Stars as a contestant, but Ribeiro appears to want him there. Given Ribeiro’s experience both on DWTS and winning it, he could make a strong competitor. However, for now, it seems that Strahan is content with announcing the show’s casts on Good Morning America instead of participating in the competition himself.

Regardless of whether Strahan participates in “Dancing With the Stars,” he’ll remain a significant figure on ABC. Beyond hosting “Good Morning America,” he’s also presenting “The $100,000 Pyramid.” Given his commitment to the network, there’s a chance that he could return as a guest judge for Season 34 of “DWTS.” If things go well, they might even consider him as a contestant in Season 35.
Currently, no release date has been set for Season 34, but it promises to be a great watch, considering the gradual unveiling of the cast members. Fingers crossed that Michael Strahan might participate along with popular Australian personality Robert Irwin and social media star Alix Earle. For now, there’s no definitive news, so we can only keep our hopes high.
