- Ten games were pitched to us at The Very Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2024
- These games were created by studios all over the world
- They take on a bunch of different genres and themes
As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the lineup of mobile games this November and December is nothing short of impressive! From the medieval fantasy RPG SkyGuilds to the heartwarming story-driven platformer ICE CUBE, there’s something for every gaming taste.
Last week, Pocket Gamer Connect Helsinki marked its decade-long milestone by hosting an international gathering of game developers! During this occasion, we conducted The Massive Indie Pitch for Mobile, showcasing numerous independent video games.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of The Big Indie Pitch – a unique platform where independent game developers refine their pitching abilities, connect with industry professionals, and present their innovative, often-unrevealed games. These are the early stages of development, some being unveiled for the very first time! The anticipation is palpable, and I can’t help but want to share these captivating games and studios with you. Keep them on your radar, as they promise to be exciting additions to our gaming world!
At PocketGamer.com, we consistently aim to showcase independent game developers and their creations. This objective is achieved through the Very Big Indie Pitch events held during Pocket Gamer Connect gatherings, which take place globally, as well as at other significant gaming events.
For this particular collection, there was an assortment of diverse games presented, ranging from seasoned developers with multiple releases to those embarking on their first project. The quality of pitches was exceptional, three winners were chosen, and you can now browse through all the games that made an attempt at becoming the victor.
If you’re interested in participating personally, visit the Big Indie Pitch website for information on upcoming events. There, you can learn how to present your game to our expert judging panel.
1 Spirit World by Cozy Game Studio
Cozy Game Studio’s debut title, titled “Spirit World,” introduces a soothing farming simulation experience filled with tranquility and personal care aspects. In this game, you assume the role of a young woman who inherits a farm after your grandmother goes missing. As you manage the farm, you’ll remove various items to collect resources that enable you to create enchanted artifacts. In addition to these magical creatures roaming your land, you can also assist the townspeople in their daily tasks. The self-care elements within the game are integrated through energy gain, which can be accumulated by participating in mini-games focused on relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises or journaling about concerns.
2 Jamland by Record Games
As a music enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled about Jamland! It’s like merging the joy of making music with the camaraderie of Friends and the excitement of Pokemon. In this game, I can gather unique instruments, team up with friends for some groovy jam sessions, and face off against challenges that push my creative boundaries in song composition. There are even intelligent judges using AI to evaluate my musical creations!

4 Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness by BAD Spiele
Following our visit to Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki the previous year, Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness made another appearance at the pitch. This narrative-focused game challenges you to maintain your sanity as you fight monsters drawn from Greek mythology and Lovecraftian lore. What sets this game apart is its deckbuilding aspect, where instead of cards, you customize a set of dice, each face representing a unique ability. It’s a well-constructed game that’s definitely worth exploring.
Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness is coming out soon.

For instance, cotton might be transformed into scarves or hats, while eggs could become delightful breakfast dishes. As you progress, the game board gradually expands by merging and creating new objects.
