Among the Japanese series that have captured hearts worldwide are iconic ones like “Dragon Ball,” “My Hero Academia,” and “One Piece.” Adding to this list is another captivating manga series titled “Sakamoto Days.” This story follows a legendary retired hitman who, after hanging up his weapons, has let himself go a bit. However, peace in his life is short-lived as enemies from his past resurface, seeking revenge.
Ever since its debut in 2020, “Sakamoto Days” has gained massive popularity among fans. They have been eagerly anticipating the manga’s transformation into an anime series, and their wait is finally over – it’s set to premiere in 2025! Netflix has obtained the global rights for this Japanese production, planning a weekly release on their streaming platform, further expanding their already vast collection of anime. With luck, we might see a live-action adaptation down the line, just like how Netflix handled “One Piece.

As a die-hard movie buff, I must confess that the title “Golf” might appear too straightforward for an upcoming show. However, with comedy legend Will Ferrell starring in it and co-created by him, this could be quite the hit. The series, “Golf“, revolves around a professional golfer who finds himself at the forefront of a contentious new league challenging the PGA Tour. As a golf enthusiast, you might find yourself scratching your head and thinking, “Now, doesn’t this sound familiar?” And that’s because it does… because we’ve seen this tale unfold in real life.
It seems that Golf is reminiscent of the contentious LIV tournament, with Ramy Youssef, one of its creators, set to appear alongside Ferrell in the show. Since Golf appears to be in the initial stages of production, there’s a chance its title or release date might alter, potentially moving it to 2026. However, let’s hope we can enjoy another round of humor from Will Ferrell in 2025!
3 Department Q
Department Q, a popular series of Danish crime novels authored by Jussi Adler-Olsen, is renowned worldwide in the genre of Nordic noir. These gripping stories have been successfully translated into a series of Danish movies and are rapidly gaining traction. If you’re not familiar with Department Q, that won’t last long! The rights for an English-language TV adaptation were secured by Scott Frank, who has previously penned the critically acclaimed film Logan and created the highly successful Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit.
Instead of Denmark, the English version of this show is set in Scotland. Notable actors like Matthew Goode and Kelly Macdonald are part of the cast.
