13 Voices Speak Out on Oct. 7 Anniversary for 13 Women Still Held Hostage by Hamas

As a compassionate individual who has always valued freedom and humanity above all else, I find it heartbreaking to witness the plight of these 13 women held captive by Hamas for over a year now. It’s disheartening that they are being used as political pawns in a conflict that has claimed countless lives on both sides.

Thirteen notable figures express their heartfelt homage to the thirteen women who spent an entire year in Hamas’s custody.

Commemorating the one-year mark since Israel suffered its deadliest day post-Holocaust on October 7, when approximately 1,200 lives were lost and a further 250 people were captured by a terror group, The Hostages and Families Forum of Missing Persons has assembled 13 notable advocates to voice their concerns about the women who continue to be held captive during the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

On their social media platforms, the group who emerged following the October 7, 2023 incident, posted a video using the hashtag #BringThemHomeNow as part of their campaign. They tagged every participant in the video. (The Hollywood Reporter has also contacted the forum about this matter. You can view the video here.)

For a year, 13 women were kept against their will. Thirteen strong advocates have united with us to amplify their voices, as they share their harrowing experiences one by one.

In the video, you’ll find Andy Cohen, who is both a Bravo producer and host, along with actresses such as Ginnifer Goodwin, Mayim Bialik, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Patricia Heaton, and Debra Messing. Also present are Saturday Night Live comedian Chloe Fineman, artist Zoe Buckman, fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, Iranian Princess Noor Pahlavi, as well as social media influencers Emily Austin, Adela Cojab Moadeb, and Baby Ariel.

Here are the thirteen hostages: Romi Gonen (age 24), Naama Levy (age 20), Liri Albag (age 19), Ofra Keider (age 70), Shiri Bibas (age 33), Inbar Hayman (age 27), Emily Damari (age 27), Karina Ariev (age 20), Agam Berger (age 20), Doron Steinbrecher (age 31), Arbel Yehoud (age 29), Daniella Gilboa (age 20), and Judy Weinstein Haggai (age 70).

I, as a passionate advocate, have been following the heart-wrenching saga of the 101 Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas. This narrative has been amplified by influential figures in Hollywood who are urgently appealing for their safe return. Among these appeals is the release of “We Will Dance Again,” a powerful documentary on Paramount+ about the Nova festival massacre, which has brought together families of the hostages at its premiere.

Seven Americans among the captives are reportedly still alive, while three others are suspected to have been killed, as per the American Jewish Committee’s statement. Six Israeli hostages, including Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, were unfortunately killed by Hamas just before their bodies were retrieved from a tunnel under Rafah city by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

On the anniversary of October 7, 2023, both Biden and Harris issued statements. In her social media post, Harris recalled the horrific Hamas attack on Israel and expressed that she would never forget it. She specifically mentioned American hostages Omer Neutra (aged 22), Edan Alexander (20), Sagui Dekel-Chen (36), Keith Siegel (65), Gadi Haggai (73), Itay Chen (19), and Weinstein Haggai (70). She pledged to continue her efforts in securing the release of all hostages, including the seven American citizens who are still being held. Lastly, she reaffirmed her unwavering support for Israel.

In his comprehensive statement, Biden expressed his determination not to relent until every remaining captive is safely returned home. He also forcefully denounced the alarming increase in anti-Semitism in America and globally as he recalled the horrific atrocity of the October 7th attack. He stated that efforts will continue unabated to negotiate a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, one that ensures the safe return of hostages, enhances humanitarian aid distribution to alleviate suffering, guarantees Israel’s security, and ultimately ends the conflict.

As a passionate supporter, I can’t help but express my deep concern over the devastating impact of Israel’s response to conflict in Gaza. Reports from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which is run by Hamas, suggest that more than 40,000 lives have been lost in this tragic ordeal.
