As a dedicated cinema enthusiast, I can’t help but reflect on some of the most gripping moments in television history. To this day, the Red Wedding from Game of Thrones remains one of the most shocking and lethal episodes that left an indelible mark. Yet, the sixth episode of the second season of 1923’s upcoming TV schedule came close to rivaling it, as seven characters met their untimely end in a single episode, leaving me utterly stunned. To be honest, I was already on edge (and exhilarated) about what was yet to unfold in the finale. However, Sebastian Roché’s hint at a potential connection to a Game of Thrones moment has only served to intensify my anticipation for what lies ahead.

Following our conversation about the demise of his character in Episode 6, I inquired from Roche about how the series of losses in Teonna’s life may influence her future. Although he was tight-lipped about specific details, he did ponder over Teonna’s current state and potential new beginnings that could unfold, expressing:

In a blink of an eye, a newfound determination arises within her, as she finds herself standing alone. She must now prioritize herself. The ember of defiance rekindles inside her, for there was a vulnerability in her character, stemming from her relationship with her father and her boyfriend, as well as the pain of losing her boyfriend. This vulnerability transforms into this newfound strength, this new resolve. It’s this transformation that you may observe in the upcoming episode.

It’s deeply unfortunate that Teonna is left alone after losing everyone in her group who cared for her, including those trying to capture her. Yet, it’s crucial to recall that the very individuals pursuing her no longer pose a threat. This situation presents an opportunity for her to start anew. Nevertheless, there might be obstacles ahead, as hinted by Sebastian Roché, which she may need to overcome with determination and resilience.

In relation to that topic, he concluded his remark by subtly referencing “Game of Thrones”. As we ponder over what might occur in Episode 7, the actor shared with me his insights:

You never know with Taylor [Sheridan] what’s going to happen. There might be another Red Wedding.

Without mincing words, the events of Episode 6 reminded me eerily of the Red Wedding. Although the deaths weren’t concentrated in a single location as they were in Game of Thrones, this episode was brutal in its portrayal of multiple cherished and significant characters meeting their end.

It appears another confrontation similar to the train station’s battle might occur in the final episode, potentially escalating into a full-blown conflict. This could foreshadow a tragic event where multiple characters meet their end, reminiscent of one of TV’s most grim episodes, “The Rains of Castamere.

Additionally, for months now, I’ve been harboring a sense of unease about my speculation that the character played by Harrison Ford, named Jacob, might perish before Spencer returns. It seems as though a shocking, unanticipated twist similar to the Red Wedding event could be looming on the horizon.

During my interview with Darren Mann, who plays Jack Dutton, the concepts behind that theory and his emotions became more clear. We discussed how numerous characters’ demises in Episode 6 might indicate that we are only seeing the start of the violence, as he put it.

I believe things are about to take off dramatically and unpredictably in the upcoming episode. It seems like we’re embarking on a roller coaster ride filled with chaos and excitement.

So, prepare for some sort of “freaking wild” episode of 1923, folks.

Actor Brandon Sklenar as Spencer Dutton has mentioned that he needed tissues during the preparation for this upcoming episode due to its deeply moving beauty. Combined with remarks that echo the intensity of the infamous “Red Wedding,” I am confident we will witness a gripping, violent, and indelible episode on our screens by Sunday.
