2 Years of Darlings: Alia Bhatt celebrates film co-starring Vijay Varma, Roshan Mathew and Shefali Shah; VV gushes over his ‘fav team’

As a dedicated follower of the dynamic world of Bollywood, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Alia Bhatt’s journey unfold, and her latest milestone as a producer with Darlings is truly heartening. Two years have passed since this remarkable dark comedy graced our screens, and it continues to resonate with audiences today.

In 2022, Alia Bhatt stepped into producing for the first time with the movie Darlings. This dark comedy featured Alia alongside Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah, and Roshan Mathew, and it was well-received by viewers. Today, exactly two years have passed since its release on August 5, 2024. Alia took to her social media to commemorate this achievement, while Vijay couldn’t help but express his enthusiasm for the team.

On Alia Bhatt’s production house Eternal Sunshine Productions’ official Instagram account, they shared a unique video highlighting memorable phases from the production of “Darlings,” such as filming, wrapping up, and promotional activities. The video’s text read, “Celebrating two years of Darlings,” while the accompanying caption read, “Twice the enjoyment, twice the affection. Happy Two Years, Darlings.”

As a film enthusiast with a deep appreciation for exceptional acting performances, I find it inspiring to witness the camaraderie and unity displayed by the cast and crew of a movie, especially during significant milestones like anniversaries. Having worked on various projects myself, I can attest to the strong bonds that are formed among team members during the creative process. It’s heartening to see Alia Bhatt and Vijay Varma, who played memorable characters in the film, come together to celebrate their collaboration on the occasion of the movie’s second anniversary. Their shared recognition of each other’s talents and mutual respect is a testament to the power of teamwork in the entertainment industry. By tagging Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew, and director Jasmeet K Reen, they are emphasizing the importance of acknowledging everyone involved in bringing a project to life. This simple yet meaningful gesture underscores the spirit of unity that should be fostered within every creative team, as we all work towards telling compelling stories that resonate with audiences.

The film that recently premiered on Netflix, titled “Darlings,” was additionally supported by both Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma through their studio, Red Chillies Entertainment, along with Alia’s own production company.

In 2021, Alia shared a heartfelt message upon the start of the production for her movie “Darlings.” She expressed, “Beginning of DARLINGS! This is my initial venture as a producer, but I will forever remain an actor at heart (and in this case, a rather anxious one).”

Expressing her apprehension, Alia admitted, “The eve of commencing a fresh movie finds me jittery. A strange sensation, like an electric current coursing through my body, envelops me. I spend the entire night tossing and turning, plagued by dreams of flubbing my lines. I grow restless and arrive at the set fifteen minutes ahead of schedule, worrying about being late. Perhaps this apprehension will never subside – and it needn’t; after all, being anxious and uncertain is a sign that one truly cares.”

As a committed follower, I’m excitedly preparing for my second venture as a film producer. The movie, titled “Jigra,” is a joint production between Eternal Sunshine Productions and Dharma Productions, and I have the privilege of being part of this project. Directed by Vasan Bala, it features Vedang Raina as a co-star, and we’re set to premiere in theaters on October 11.
