Following the theft of a High Table coin press by his elder brother, Frankie (Ben Robson), Winston becomes embroiled in a dangerous power struggle with the previous controller of the hotel, the psychopathic Cormac O’Connor (Mel Gibson). Twisted Metal

Are you all geared up for an exhilarating journey? The latest sensation, Twisted Metal, is riding a wave of praise from both critics and enthusiasts, following Peacock’s recently launched original series. In this action-packed, post-apocalyptic adventure across America, MCU star Anthony Mackie takes the wheel for a life-or-death delivery task. This offbeat, zany, and darkly humorous sci-fi production breathes new life into the iconic vehicles, personalities, and destruction of the classic Twisted Metal PlayStation video game series, offering an entertaining performance from Mackie alongside co-stars Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sideways), and the duo of Will Arnett (BoJack Horseman, LEGO movie franchise) and wrestler Samoa Joe as the menacing Sweet Tooth.

Mrs. Davis

In this captivating sci-fi series, “Mrs. Davis,” I find myself portraying Betty Gilpin, the fervent nun Sister Simone, on Peacock. The imaginative minds behind HBO’s “Watchmen” and “Lost,” Damon Lindelof and Tara Hernandez, have crafted this exhilarating original production. Blending humor, drama, suspense, and a sprinkle of magical realism, it’s an unforeseeable rollercoaster ride that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. As Sister Simone, I’m on a relentless quest to break the societal grip the AI in the show seems to have on almost everyone, except for my quirky group of allies who share my distaste for these artificial beings.

La Brea

In the heart of bustling Los Angeles, an enormous chasm unexpectedly emerges, plunging a band of individuals into a prehistoric landscape teeming with perils once believed to be extinct for millions of years. The talented David Appelbaum, known for his work on The Mentalist and NCIS: New Orleans, has crafted this gripping NBC series that just concluded its astounding third season.

Teacup

Based on Robert McCammon’s 1988 novel “Stinger,” the film “Teacup” tells the story of a diverse group of individuals dealing with an enigmatic and possibly supernatural danger in a remote farm located in Georgia. This farm belongs to the Chenoweth family, headed by veterinarian Maggie (Yvonne Strahovski from “The Tomorrow War”) and high school English teacher James (Scott Speedman of “The Strangers”). Other members of the cast include Chaske Spencer as Ruben Shanley, Kathy Baker as Ellen Chenoweth, Caleb Dolden as Arlo Chenoweth, Émilie Bierre as Meryl Chenoweth, Diany Rodriguez as Valeria Shanley, Luciano Leroux as Nicholas Shanley, Boris McGiver as Donald Kelly, and Rob Morgan as McNab. The group must unite to confront the mysterious threat that has invaded their peaceful rural life.

Poker Face

In Peacock’s show “Poker Face,” Natasha Lyonne plays the role of Charlie Cale, an ordinary woman with an extraordinary knack for detecting lies. This talent serves her well as she navigates various murder mysteries in a style reminiscent of Columbo, all while avoiding dangerous enemies from Vegas who are hot on her trail and seeking her demise. The series, which shares the same quick-witted charm and intrigue that made Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” films so popular, has already been renewed for a second season.

Caprica

A single-season television show titled “Caprica,” a prequel spinoff from Ronald D. Moore’s reboot of “Battlestar Galactica,” aired on SYFY in 2010. This series, appreciated by both fans and critics, was described by SYFY WIRE’s Trent Moore as “a large narrative at its heart, but essentially a family story.” The story follows two families whose lives are affected by a tragic event, which ultimately leads to the development of the technology behind the Cylons and their rise. Essentially, it is the opposite of “Battlestar Galactica,” as it focuses on family dynamics rather than the action-packed war sequences that characterized the original series.

Resident Alien

about:blank

The show titled Resident Alien is a popular series that airs on SYFY and USA, featuring an alien who crash-lands on Earth and inhabits the body of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk). In his new role as the small town’s doctor, Harry offers plenty of laughs as he adjusts to life on our planet, but he also remains committed to his primary extraterrestrial objective: destroying Earth. The series is packed with humor and is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Don’t miss out on the entire series of Resident Alien, streaming now on Peacock! We’re currently working on Season 4, and you can catch it soon on USA.

Three-Body Problem

According to SYFY WIRE’s Matthew Jackson, the novel “Three-Body Problem,” which won a Hugo Award and was written by Liu Cixin, is a tangled network of secrets and disclosures centered around the detection of an alien civilization that lies just a few light years from Earth. The story spans from China’s Cultural Revolution in the mid-20th century to the present day, involving various elements such as a clandestine government project, a floating colony with its own military force, and a virtual reality game with an unexpected role. To put it simply, this novel is intricate, and its goal is to accurately portray that complexity.

Farscape

Two decades have passed since Farscape first graced our screens, but it continues to captivate a loyal fanbase. The series chronicles the journey of astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder), who ends up stranded on an alien planet after being pulled through a wormhole by accident. To find his way back home, he teams up with a motley crew of extraterrestrial fugitives who eventually transform into his makeshift family. If you’re seeking an engaging space adventure, Farscape is definitely worth your time (whether for the first or second watch).

Heroes

As a devoted fan, I’d put it this way: “In Heroes, an extraordinary TV series, the tagline for its debut season, reads ‘Save the cheerleader, save the world.’ It’s about everyday people suddenly endowed with extraordinary abilities. The show follows a group of these individuals as they grapple with their newfound powers. Predictably, some succumb to darkness, and it falls upon the rest of us to thwart them, whether we’re ready for the responsibility or not.

The War of the Worlds

about:blank

The three-part television series adaptation, set in Edwardian England, skillfully incorporated a distinctly British touch to the classic science fiction novel by H.G. Wells. By introducing an unconventional couple – portrayed by Eleanor Tomlinson from “The Nevers” and Rafe Spall of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” – into the tumultuous events of the early 20th Century, the spectacle-filled narrative places them and their scientific employer (Robert Carlyle, known for his role in “Stargate Universe”) in a struggle against adversaries that are both extraterrestrial and monstrous.

Don’t panic! All three The War of the Worlds event series episodes are streaming on Peacock here.

Brave New World

about:blank

This television series is based on Aldous Huxley’s 1932 classic science fiction novel, “Brave New World.” The 2020 version, premiering on Peacock, updates the story with some modifications such as an artificial intelligence component. However, the core theme remains consistent – in this future society, everything is strictly regulated by the government, giving the illusion of a perfect world.

The Triangle

During the era of the Sci-Fi channel, now known as SYFY, this star-studded event series embarked on a mind-bending, time-traveling exploration of an intriguing hypothesis to unravel the eerie enigmas hidden within the Bermuda Triangle. Featuring Sam Neill from “Jurassic Park,” along with Eric Stoltz, Bruce Davison, and Lou Diamond Phillips, this show boasted a creative team that included sci-fi legends like Dean Devlin (of “Stargate,” “The Ark,” and “Independence Day”) and Rockne S. O’Bannon (“Farscape” and “Alien Nation”) as writers.

If you’re brave enough, give “The Triangle” a try: Stream all three episodes of this unique 2005 miniseries on Peacock right here.

Primeval

about:blank

In essence, Primeval is similar to both Stargate and La Brea, as it focuses on a group of researchers exploring a temporal abnormality that permits ancient beasts to pass through. This series was crafted by the team consisting of Tim Haines, known for Walking With Dinosaurs, and Adrian Hodges, renowned for Survivors. In 2008, Haines stated to IGN that many British shows have a tendency to look back at history, while there’s also an influence from the Hammer Horror genre. Primeval, however, represents a different tradition in television and aims to achieve the same balance as modern shows like Buffy – blending humor, excitement, mature content, all while keeping it entertaining for both children and adults.

Sliders

In the 1990s, “Sliders” was a TV series that delved into the concept of multiverses before the Marvel Cinematic Universe became popular. The story follows a team who, after their “sliding” technology malfunctions and they lose the coordinates to their home universe, find themselves voyaging through various universes. It’s an entertaining show that will evoke nostalgia for the ’90s if you were fortunate enough to have lived in that particular universe.

SeaQuest DSV

The television series, SeaQuest DSV, hails from the ’90s and offers a unique blend of science fiction and underwater exploration. Situated in the year 2018 (as per the show’s timeline), this narrative chronicles the journey of the submarine, seaQuest DSV 4600. This advanced vessel plays a crucial role in safeguarding Earth’s submerged colonies when resources on land have become scarce. Despite the ocean depths providing a respite from surface tensions, international conflicts persist beneath the waves, and the seaQuest crew frequently find themselves embroiled in these underwater power struggles.

But everything spirals out of control when I’m falsely accused and sentenced to life in a remote prison on another planet. As we journey towards this cosmic correctional facility, my fellow prisoners launch a rebellion, seizing control of the ship. RoboCop: The Series

For only one season, the television adaptation of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 film, entitled RoboCop, which premiered in 1994, featured Richard Eden as the lead character, a less violent and more family-friendly portrayal of the cybernetic law enforcer, set within a fictional city similar to that depicted in the original movie.

Space: 1999

Regrettably, we didn’t possess a functioning lunar base at the start of the new millennium, nor did one unexpectedly launch into space. However, that detail isn’t important! Space: 1999, jointly created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson – the geniuses behind the puppet-driven Thunderbirds series – features Martin Landau as Commander John Koenig, a courageous figure leading a lunar outpost drifting through space.
