As a seasoned wrestling enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of many legends, I must say that the upcoming WrestleMania 41 promises to be a spectacle like no other! With my years of experience watching the WWE, I can’t help but feel excited about some potential matches that could grace the ring on that fateful day.
As a dedicated WWE fan, I can’t help but feel the excitement building as WrestleMania 41 approaches in May next year. Although there are plenty of exciting events ahead, my thoughts keep drifting to this grand spectacle. The lineup for next year’s Premium Live Events (PLEs) and the Monday Night Raw and SmackDown shows in the 2025 schedule will certainly give us a clue about who might get their moment to shine on the two-night event. That said, I already have some educated guesses about who we might see gracing the WrestleMania stage.
Additionally, I’d like to make some modest suggestions for matches I prefer not to find online, just in case someone is checking web content for these views. There are certain rivalries I believe could be spectacular in Las Vegas, but there are far too many that I don’t want to see on the fight card. Let’s delve into it.
Prediction: New Day vs. Big E
In a surprising move, New Day stunned the wrestling world with a heel turn, accusing Big E of being responsible for their decline from being WWE’s most dominant tag team. Given the low blows they’ve thrown his way following his severe injury, it seems like his comeback might be imminent. Since Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods declined his invitation to rejoin as a manager, one wonders what would happen if Big E were given the green light to return to action?
It seems likely that Big E will make his comeback in singles competition, but his triumphant return may be foiled by his past associates. This back-and-forth continues until Adam Pearce steps in and arranges a 2-on-1 match at WrestleMania as a result. Alternatively, Big E might team up with a new partner, but I suspect he’s strong enough to handle both Woods and Kingston on his own.
Don’t Want: Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley For The Women’s World Championship
2024 saw the Women’s World Championship title predominantly associated with Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan, a rivalry that catapulted Liv into the main event and provided engaging narratives. However, this feud has reached its climax. It’s time to free the title from this prolonged battle, introducing new potential champions to keep the competition exciting.
Although Dominik Mysterio’s wife likely won’t mind the storyline, there’s a significant chance fans could grow tired of their ongoing rivalry unless it concludes soon. With the women’s main roster being so rich in talent, it’s essential to spread the focus and move the belt to other wrestlers if possible. It’s time for this feud between these two to come to an end.
Prediction: John Cena vs. Gunther For The Heavyweight Championship
Bookmakers predict that John Cena is most likely to win the Royal Rumble, which could earn him a title shot at WrestleMania 41. Given that “The Champ” has announced this will be his last WWE event, it seems plausible he’d strive for a record-breaking victory for what is now referred to as the Heavyweight Championship before retiring.
At present, Gunther is the Heavyweight Champion, but there’s a chance he might not hold that title by WrestleMania 41. Nevertheless, he could make an excellent opponent for Cena. Is it feasible for a legend nearing the end of his career to take down one of the most powerful and arrogant champions on the main roster? It certainly seems like a tough task, but I’m hoping for a more exciting match than what we saw between him and Austin Theory at their previous WrestleMania encounter. Despite that, I’m looking forward to seeing it unfold, especially since Cena has pledged to spend one final year with the WWE. I believe he’ll be in top form and ready for the challenge.
Don’t Want: Gunther Vs. Goldberg For The Heavyweight Championship
It appears that Bill Goldberg may have a retirement match planned for 2024, as hinted in several of his interviews and suggested by WWE’s Bad Blood. There was a confrontation between Goldberg and Gunther, the current champion, but he hasn’t been seen since then. This has led some to speculate that he could make an appearance at the Royal Rumble.
I find myself in agreement with Philip Sledge from TopMob: It seems unnecessary to me for Goldberg to have a retirement match at WrestleMania 41. The WWE has presented us with several of his matches in recent times, and none of them were particularly impressive. Similar to The Undertaker, I believe he might have retired a few matches earlier, and granting him a WrestleMania moment feels like squandering a valuable match opportunity.
Prediction: Jade Cargill vs. Bianca Belair
Ever since I first set my eyes on Bianca Belair during her Royal Rumble debut alongside Jade Cargill, wrestling enthusiasts like myself have been eagerly anticipating their matchup. However, the WWE decided to hold off on that showdown initially, instead forming them as a tag team and awarding us with the amusing spectacle of their title-winning run and that bizarre encounter with none other than the Boogeyman – an event that still makes me chuckle thinking about it!
After Jade was attacked, it’s likely that many people are pointing fingers at Bianca as the possible perpetrator. Known for her strong presence in the ring, Bianca has been somewhat rough around the edges since making her debut. Given her dominant nature, I can imagine she might be trying to eliminate any competition to regain her status as a solo performer. This could lead to a conflict with Jade once Bianca discovers that it was her friend who caused Jade’s injury.
Don’t Want: Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are currently the standout performers in a highly talented group of wrestlers, a position they’ve held for quite some time. They’ve been the ones to close the last two WrestleMania events, and both performances were outstanding. The WWE is planning another match between these two rivals, but there are questions about whether this is the optimal moment for such a showdown.
It seems unlikely, but considering how Roman Reigns has come back as a popular wrestler, it appears the company feels the same way. First, he needs to defeat Solo Sikoa and the revamped Bloodline. After that, he can focus on reclaiming his position as “The Head of the Table.” Who he might face for this title – Cody Rhodes, The Rock, or someone else entirely – remains to be seen. We’ll find out in time.
WrestleMania 41 won’t take place in Las Vegas until Saturday, April 19th, and continuing through Sunday, April 20th. As we draw nearer to the event, we’ll likely have a clearer picture of the match lineup, and our predictions for what should be included will certainly be shared.
