As a lifestyle expert who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of cinema, I must say that Hum Aapke Hain Koun remains a timeless masterpiece that continues to captivate audiences even three decades later. Working alongside stars like Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit is no small feat, but Renuka Shahane handled it with grace and humor.
30 years ago, Hum Aapke Hain Koun graced our screens, and as a die-hard fan, I can’t help but look back on the enchantment it wove in my heart. With the unforgettable pairing of Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, this film continues to be cherished like an heirloom. As we celebrate this momentous anniversary, let’s rewind the years and remember when Renuka Shahane shared her awe at how effortlessly natural Salman and Madhuri seemed, both with a tiny baby and a lively pup named Tuffy.
Actress Renuka Shahane fondly recalled her time working alongside Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Koun, expressing her awe at their natural ease with the baby and the lovable dog, Tuffy. In an earlier conversation with Rajshri, she admitted that she was delightfully surprised by Salman’s skillful handling of both the child and the pet during filming.
Renuka stated, “Salman and Madhuri both took easily to the baby and Tuffy, something not every actor can manage. In fact, Salman was exceptional in handling them. It wasn’t until later that we realized he has a soft spot for animals and babies. At the time, I was pleasantly surprised by his interaction with them.
In a scenic drive through the town of Ooty, Renuka Shahane’s initial encounter with Salman Khan unfolds as they head towards Pooja Bhabhi’s mother’s residence. During this journey, Prem (portrayed by Salman) reveals his feelings for her. The shoot was an interesting mix of memorable moments and laughter, as Salman playfully cautioned Renuka about the rough roads, humorously hinting at the possibility of a crash.
Renuka playfully said she’d be okay if something unexpected happened, because the beautiful landscape they were in was so captivating.
In their debut film scene together, Salman Khan’s character Prem warned Renuka (playing Pooja Bhabhi) about his affection during their trip to her mother’s house, which was shot in Ooty. The roads were bumpy, and Salman frequently mentioned the risk of an accident. However, Renuka found humor in this and said, “He kept reminding me that I could have accidents too. I told him I wouldn’t mind if we had one at such a beautiful place.
Apart from that, Renuka mentioned that the actor from Sikandar inspired her to dance along to Lo Chali Main in the movie. Since she was nervous about keeping pace with him and Madhuri Dixit on the dance floor, their encouragement helped calm her down. However, as they filmed the energetic number together, Renuka’s initial apprehension turned into boundless excitement.
