It’s honestly a crime that The Secret World of Alex Mack isn’t discussed all that much, especially since it can definitely be considered one of the best Nick shows of the ‘90s. The show is about a teenage girl who develops superhuman abilities after being exposed to an experimental chemical. Like the Harry Potter movies, it gradually shifts from lighter storytelling to darker tales, and it features some of the earliest appearances of an actress by the name of Jessica Alba.
Cousin Skeeter
The lively puppet characters in the show “Cousin Skeeter” can undoubtedly provide some fun, and that’s no exception when it comes to the overly excited main character. He’s a quirky kid who seems to create chaos for those around him, particularly his cousin, Bobby. This buddy comedy is definitely worth giving a watch.

In the “The Journey of Allen Strange”, we find a fresh take on the commonly used idea of aliens secretly living among us. The show features all sorts of wild elements, such as vampires living in freezers, alien creatures with lizard-like faces, and friends made out of ham, to name just a few.

A little-known but highly engaging coming-of-age comedy-drama, “Just for Kicks,” developed by Whoopi Goldberg, revolves around four diverse teenage girls from varying ethnic and economic backgrounds. They form a bond while playing on a New York soccer team. Each character is complex, with intriguing stories to tell. Unfortunately, this undervalued series consists of only 13 episodes.
My Brother And Me
In certain aspects, the show “My Brother and Me” seems to pave the way for “Kenan & Kel“, even though it didn’t manage to run as long as the spin-off from “All That“. Despite not challenging traditional sitcom norms, this 13-episode series is still quite enjoyable and deserves acknowledgement for being one of Nickelodeon’s early shows to prominently feature a Black cast.
100 Deeds For Eddie McDowd
Nick has created several excellent fantasy series, one of which is the underrated gem from the late ’90s and early 2000s known as “100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd“. This comedy, produced by Thomas W. Lynch, tells the story of a bully who gets turned into a dog by an enigmatic wanderer (portrayed by the late Richard Moll). The twist is that he must carry out 100 good deeds, as directed by this mysterious figure, to break the spell. To make matters worse, Eddie is owned and can only communicate with Justin Taylor, the last kid he tormented.

Undeniably, it’s hard to forget the hilarious ’90s teen sitcom “Salute Your Shorts,” set in the fictional Camp Anawanna. The series, with its memorable characters, was a delightful watch, and the summer setting added a charming ambiance. Despite being short-lived, spanning just two seasons, the show has undeniably earned the title of a classic.

El Tigre: The Adventures Of Manny Rivera
Among the forgotten trinkets from Nick’s past, “El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera” stands out as an entertaining superhero series. This show centers around a boy endowed with powers, who faces the dilemma of choosing between goodness and villainy. What makes this story even more intriguing is that his father is a renowned hero, while his grandfather is a notorious supervillain – now, isn’t that a fascinating family history?
