There is nothing quite like a great concert. One might be dragged into seeing the musical artist, get to the venue, and be surprisingly entertained. Plus, the music should always augment the quality of a studio album.
The great bit for music lovers is that Veeps exists. There are many streaming services that offer music, but Veeps is a relatively inexpensive service that delivers a vast range of artists and their concerts. There is a large selection of metal, but country and comedy too.
Let’s say you are thinking of getting a subscription. You might want to do that before St. Patrick’s Day on Monday because the streamer is brining us a live-stream of the Dropkick Murphys live from Boston. That’s just another reason to dive in.
These five concerts are cannot miss on music streaming service Veeps
Ghost – Rite Here Rite Now
This is so much more than a concert film. Is there a full concert involved? Yes, and anyone should be able to enjoy the show even if one is not a long-time Ghost fan. But if one is a fan, then the interludes with Papa augment the enjoyment further.
The movie Ghost is simply amazing, and the production quality is outstanding. Although watching it in a theater was the best experience, Veepeo ensures that the audio during streaming is top-notch too.
The Decemberists – Rumpus at Rev Hall
The next two on this list are polar opposites but still excellent. Colin Meloy and his mates are not normally ones for bombastic musical presentations, and instead just put on a great show and let the music do the work. The straightforward approach fits perfectly for the kind of folk/rock/somewhat country the band produces.
The Decemberists also don’t let us down as far as the number of songs they do. You get tracks from everywhere on their catalog, and it is a great history of music.
Coldplay – Music of the Spheres: Live at River Plate
Coldplay’s latest albums might not be the same high quality that their earlier records were (no offense if you are a fan of the band), but the band certainly knows how to put on a show. If you like visuals to go along with the songs, this is the group for you. Somehow, all the glam makes even their lesser tracks seem better.
Plus, while Coldplay is not ever going to reach the artistic heights of bands such as Buffalo Springfield, Chris Martin sings well enough, and his fellow musicians do their jobs in an efficient manner. Adding the visuals only makes the concert-goer (or streaming viewer, in this case) have a more fully formed experience.
Sting – Live in Berlin
Sting has been delivering live music for nearly 50 years, and his approach has changed from his Police days, but only slightly. He still has an energy that most do not, but he now has more of a storytelling presence. He feels classical and modern at the same time.
He also does not have such an intense ego that he doesn’t want to invite friends to join him onstage. You never know what might happen next at a Sting, only that it is going to be very good.
Bad Omens – Live from Germany: Night 1
More live music from Germany? It seems so, even though neither of the artists is German. Heck, Bad Omens, from Richmond, Virginia, has a way of translating their music into any culture of musical fandom. How? Who really knows? On the surface, the music they create is not so different than other metalcore bands, but something about their live shows changes things.
The band has a way of making the audience feel as if they are a part of creating the songs, too. You might be amazed, if you do not know the group’s music very well, how many others in the concert audience know the songs by heart. Is this some gem of a band most have overlooked? Maybe, but at least on Veeps, you get to see the magic at work.
