As a long-time fan of reality TV and someone who’s seen more than their fair share of “90 Day Fiancé” spinoffs, I must say this latest season left me feeling like a seasoned detective with a migraine. The tale of Joanne Digesu and Sean was once my favorite this season, but after the tell-all, I’m finding it hard to defend them.
heads up! the content below reveals spoilers from the season 6 tell-all special of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, which is available for streaming exclusively with a Max subscription. Proceed with caution if you wish to avoid these revelations.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way wrapped up its tell-all episode, hinting at potential cast members for the 2025 lineup. It appears there’s a lot more drama left to explore for several characters, particularly the one-time fan favorite couple from this season – Joanne Digesu and Sean. However, I must clarify that they are my former favorites due to the revelation that their marriage still harbors undisclosed secrets, leaving me quite frustrated.
Initially, I was fully prepared to back this couple unequivocally. However, at the conclusion of this series, I find myself struggling. While they remain adorable together, their continued secrecy regarding the details of their marriage left me frustrated. For those unaware, let me clarify some matters that have been kept hidden from those close to them:
Sean Hadn’t Told His Daughter He Was In The United States
90-Day Fiancé: The Other Way started with the revelation that Sean had arrived in the U.S. Further updates showed that he now holds a green card, allowing him flexible travel rights. However, there seems to be a question about his daughter, whom he has custody of. It appears she remains in Ireland, as indicated by Sean during the tell-all, where she believes her father is on a vacation in England.
Similar to the unclear aspects of whether their marriage is valid, I find myself puzzled by this situation. Sean admitted to deceiving his daughter about traveling to the U.S., stating she would not have wanted to join him on the trip. When reminded that his daughter might learn about his U.S. visit through the tell-all book, he seemed nonchalant. It appears as though he may be deliberately undermining his daughter’s trust, given his continued deception regarding his marriage.
Joanne Still Hasn’t Told Her Father She’s Married
Surprisingly enough, and in a turn of events that might just make it onto future episodes of “90 Day Fiancé” for its unbelievable twists, Joanne admitted she hadn’t informed her father yet about marrying Sean. I initially assumed this was possible given their parents had divorced, but it turns out, quite unexpectedly, they are still blissfully wedded.
It appears that Joanne’s mother is aware that her daughter got secretly married long ago, but has managed to conceal this fact from her husband who, upon learning it, is likely to be quite upset. I find it puzzling how she could have maintained this secrecy, especially since we heard that the husband was in the same room during the tell-all and didn’t notice her mother participating remotely. Joanne admitted that she hadn’t shared the news with her father because of fear he might not forgive her, and I doubt that simply informing her mother will soften the impact of this revelation any further.
It’s clear that Sean and Joanne’s revelations will play a role in their future appearances on 90 Day, if they don’t part ways after marriage. Although they may no longer be my preferred couple, I must confess I’m intrigued by their journey and can’t wait to see how things unfold once her father discovers the truth. However, I hope Sean will become more open with his daughter. As for where they might reside, only time will tell should they make a reappearance in future episodes.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’s sixth season has come to an end, but fans can still enjoy the excitement by revisiting it on Max! Rest assured, the suspenseful storylines of 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 2 are just around the corner on TLC, so the captivating journey continues.
