Gen Zers Prefers Crypto Over Stocks: Policygenius Survey

According to a recent survey conducted by Policygenius amongst 4,063 American adults through YouGov, there’s been a shift in investment preferences among Gen Z towards cryptocurrency compared to traditional stocks. Approximately 20% of Gen Z respondents reportedly own crypto assets, while only 18% have investments in the stock market.

The ownership of cryptocurrency among older generations, such as baby boomers, is quite low at only 5%. In contrast, Gen Z and millennials have a significantly higher rate of crypto ownership, with 26% and 27% respectively. When it comes to real estate ownership, however, the situation looks different: 13% of Gen Zers and 24% of Millennials own real estate, while nearly half (45%) of Boomers do so.

An explanation for this change could be that the challenges in the housing market, such as expensive loans and a shortage of available properties, are preventing people from buying homes and leading to an increase in individual real estate ownership.
