Aligned Layer Secures $20 Million In Funding Led by Hack VC

As someone who has followed the blockchain industry closely for years, I am thrilled to witness the progress being made by Aligned Layer. The successful $20 million funding round led by Hack VC, with participation from esteemed venture capital firms and strategic partners, is a testament to the potential of this project.

Hack VC spearheaded a $20 million investment round for Aligned Layer, with contributions from DAO5, L2Iterative, NomadCapital_io, FinalityCap, Symbolic VC, Theta Capital, J17, EVG Ventures, Decima Fund, and several other strategic partners and angel investors. The involvement of Alex Pack, Ed Roman, and Rodney from Hack VC is greatly valued.

The Eigen Layer-backed Aligned Layer boosts Ethereum‘s functionalities, serving as a swifter, more affordable settlement layer for validity and zero-knowledge proofs. It streamlines the process of proving correctness, cutting costs, and expediting transactions. As a result, developers can devote their energies to creating outstanding applications, free from the burden of intricate proof generation procedures.

In the past, it was the responsibility of engineers to create circuit designs for generating proofs. However, Rust programmers now have the ability to accomplish this task with ease. The technological community is advancing rapidly in the field of proof generation, with hardware enhancements set to further boost its efficiency.

As an observer, I’d describe it this way: The Aligned Layer project is my observation that aims to tackle the on-chain proof verification bottleneck by simplifying the process for beginners, quickening the generation of proofs, and cutting down verification expenses. This approach will create fresh opportunities for innovation within the blockchain realm.

Using Aligned Layer’s SDK, developers can streamline the process of verifying proofs within various smart contracts. This is achieved through the integration of Eigen Layer AVS, which operates different proof verifiers in Rust and Go without relying on any Virtual Machine. Consequently, a decentralized network is established. Furthermore, an aggregation layer collects all proofs for Ethereum-based verification.

The project currently operates a functional testnet utilizing Cosmos SDK, and is in the process of transitioning to an Eigen Layer testnet in the near future. The mainnet release is imminent, featuring demonstrations of numerous apps developed using Aligned Layer.
