As a seasoned crypto investor, I can’t help but feel encouraged and reassured by this new alliance between tech giants in various sectors to combat financial scams and internet fraud. With my fair share of experiences in the volatile world of cryptocurrency, I’ve unfortunately encountered my fair share of scams and attempted scams, some disguised as seemingly legitimate investment opportunities or even dating scams.
On Taylor: Digital businesses hailing from the realms of dating apps, finance services, social media, and cryptocurrency announced a fresh collaboration titled Tech Against Scams on Tuesday. This alliance aims to bolster efforts in combating financial deceit and web fraud that prey upon consumers across various industries.
Industry trailblazers and I have joined forces in our Tech Against Scams initiative. This collaborative effort aims to tackle the pervasive issue of scams within technology, through collective action and dedication to safeguarding and informing users.

Coinbase, Match Group (the corporation behind Tinder and Hinge), Meta, Kraken, Ripple, Gemini, and the Global Anti-Scam Organization represent notable figures in the Tech Against Scams initiative.
This collaboration will function as a central hub where member organizations can team up to counteract the advancements in technology used by scammers, safeguard consumers, and prevent the financial scam industry from continually advancing.
As a dedicated researcher in the field of cybersecurity, I aim to share effective strategies, identify potential risks, and provide essential information to help safeguard consumers against various forms of cybercrime. This includes preventing romance scams and protecting individuals from cryptocurrency frauds similar to “pig butchering.”
As an industry analyst, I’d rephrase it as follows: Last summer, Match Group, Coinbase, and Meta initiated a unique collaboration to tackle cross-platform threats, such as pig slaughtering. Realizing the importance of expanded cooperation, these companies have now brought more partners on board to strengthen their joint efforts.
Through collaboration, the partnership will leverage unique strengths of each organization to more effectively identify emerging scam patterns, share proven strategies, and foster global user security by collectively taking action.
