XRPL Grants Wave 7: Funding 7 Projects, Boosting XRPL Ecosystem

As a researcher, I’m excited to share that RippleX has announced the latest recipients of the XRPL Grants. Seven innovative projects have been chosen to receive funding in this round. Each project brings unique perspectives and a clear commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the XRP Ledger or XRPL.

The Wave 7 application pool saw submissions from over 132 locations, all expressing interest in the XRP Ledger. Of these, approximately 90 applications were carefully reviewed and evaluated. Seven projects originating from seven distinct countries across four continents were subsequently chosen, resulting in a total investment of $700,000.

At the other end, there are numerous applications in the financial industry. These include decentralized finance (DeFi), payment solutions, real-world asset (RWA) digitization through tokenization, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and identity authentication.

In the first quarter of 2024, the XRP Ledger experienced a significant increase in on-chain transactions, recording approximately 251.39 million transactions – a remarkable jump of 108% compared to the preceding quarter.

As a crypto investor, I can tell you that transaction fees have significantly decreased by around 45%, bringing them down to approximately $0.000856. This reduction in fees means that network congestion levels are greatly improved, allowing the networks to operate at their peak efficiency.
