As a huge fan of Scarlett Johansson’s acting abilities and versatility, I find it fascinating how her real life intertwines with her on-screen persona. It’s heartwarming to know that despite her daughter Rose being too scared to watch her violent Marvel movies due to their content, she still looks up to her mom and is excited about her new projects, particularly the hair and makeup aspects.

Scarlett Johansson, who shines in the “Fly Me to the Moon” role as a key and dependable presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) throughout her decade-long tenure as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, made her initial appearance in “Iron Man 2.” However, her daughter, who is now nine years old and shares this actress with her former spouse, French journalist Romain Dauriac, has not watched any of Johansson’s MCU films due to a particular reason.

During an interview with People about her new film “Fly Me to the Moon,” Johansson discussed her young son, who is only two and therefore naturally unaware of his mother’s Marvel roles. She also mentioned her nine-year-old daughter, Rose, who deliberately steers clear of Johansson’s MCU projects.

“Rose enjoys it when I portray Black Widow, yet she’s apprehensive about watching an Avengers film due to its violent content. She expresses her concern by saying, ‘It’s too violent for me.’ I understand her sentiment, but feel helpless.”

The attitude expressed towards Johansson’s film career is not consistent throughout her body of work. Contrarily, she has displayed enthusiasm about her mother’s latest collaboration with Channing Tatum.

I think she’s excited about the hair and makeup mostly. It’s just so fun…she’s girly.

Scarlet Johansson is Joining Two Huge Franchises

After completing her run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Johansson has gained the freedom to star in another major franchise. It seems that this new opportunity will be with the “Jurassic World” series. Tentatively named “Jurassic World 4,” this film, which is a soft reboot featuring Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, is currently scheduled for release on July 2, 2025, alongside another project of Johansson’s with a confirmed release date.

In “Transformers One,” an animated movie slated for a September 20, 2024 release, Johansson plays Elita, the second-in-command Autobot to Optimus Prime. Chris Hemsworth steps into the shoes of Optimus Prime from Peter Cullen. Additionally, Fishburne from “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and Henry from “Eternals” join the voice cast as Autobots and Decepticons respectively. Henry voices Megatron in this production.

Projects without specified release dates include “The Phoenician Scheme,” a film where Wes Anderson’s collaborators, such as Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, Benecio Del Toro, and Benedict Cumberbatch from “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” reunite. New additions to the Anderson ensemble cast are Riz Ahmed from “Venom” and “Sound of Metal,” Michael Cera from “Arrested Development” and “Sausage Party: Foodtopia,” and Charlotte Gainsbourg from “The Pale Blue Eye.”

In addition to “Fly Me to the Moon,” which is currently gracing the big screens, Johansson has upcoming projects not yet given specific release dates. Among them is a remake of Clint Eastwood’s timeless film “The Gauntlet.” This new adaptation will be helmed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously collaborated with Tom Cruise on “Jack Reacher” and “Mission: Impossible” films.
