Ryan Seacrest Films First Day as ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host: “Spinning With Excitement”

As a longtime fan of Wheel of Fortune and a gamer at heart, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Ryan Seacrest was taking over as the new host. Growing up, I used to watch Pat Sajak and Vanna White solve puzzles together every night, and now getting a glimpse into the iconic show’s behind-the-scenes world through Seacrest’s Instagram post only intensified my anticipation.

Ryan Seacrest couldn’t contain his enthusiasm for his debut as host of “Wheel of Fortune,” which left him tossing and turning with excitement instead of counting sheep the previous night.

I’ve taken the reins of the syndicated game show from Pat Sajak now that he’s hung up his hosting hat after an impressive 40-year tenure. (As a gamer, I can’t help but admire the longevity and dedication of such a legendary host!)

On Taylor’s Instagram, Seacrest posted a video on Tuesday, providing fans an exclusive look at his initial day as host of “Wheel of Fortune.” In the caption, he expressed his ongoing excitement by writing, “Here’s a sneak peek of my first day at @wheeloffortune! I’m still thrilled!”

“My heart is racing with excitement,” Seacrest expressed as he approached the show’s stage at the beginning of the video.

Upon entering the studio, I, a past co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, had my chance to give the legendary wheel a spin. It’s surprisingly smaller than one might imagine, just like me.

“Last night, I had trouble falling asleep due to my excitement,” Seacrest explained. “Although I managed to get some rest, I was still looking forward to the sound of my alarm.”

In other parts of the video, he highlighted a TV monitor showing an archived pie-throwing segment featuring Sajak and Vanna White from “Wheel of Fortune.” Additionally, he showcased some mementos of the game show, such as Emmy awards and old dresses worn by Vanna White, in a glass case for viewers to see.

I can relate to Seacrest’s feelings of pressure and preparedness when it comes to taking over a legendary role. Throughout my life, I’ve had moments where I felt the weight of expectations, wanting to honor the past while forging my own path. But at the same time, I’ve come to realize that my experiences, both intentional and unintentional, have been shaping me for this very moment. Just like Seacrest, I’ve spent a lifetime preparing for a role without even realizing it. It’s an exciting and humbling feeling, knowing that the experiences of a lifetime have led me to this point.

“I’ve been a devoted fan of this show since I was young, and I continue to watch it avidly as an adult. For many people, this show holds significant value – it’s a nightly tradition to unwind and engage in the puzzles together. As for me, hosting it provides the opportunity to award cash and prizes, and collaborate with the iconic Vanna White.”

I’m excited to share that starting September, I’ll be tuning in for brand new episodes of “Wheel of Fortune” featuring Seacrest as the host. Vanna White will still be there alongside him, making the game even more thrilling!
