As we move into the second half of the year, we’re edging closer to California and its new addition, regardless of the actual opening date. It makes perfect sense for a definite opening announcement to be made at D23 Expo, given that the event is happening right next to Disneyland.
Beyond Thunder Mountain Gets A Name
During D23 in 2022, Disney enthusiasts were given a sneak peek of something called “Beyond Big Thunder” by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro at Magic Kingdom. Although fans were shown potential blueprints, the new land’s specific theme remained a mystery. It could potentially be based on movies like Encanto or Coco. Alternatively, it might become the long-awaited Disney Villains Land. Regardless of its eventual theme, it seems reasonable to assume that by now, in 2024, we should be preparing for an official announcement revealing the land’s true concept.
