John Stamos Recalls Listening to Bob Saget’s Audiobook “Every Night” Following His Death

As a huge fan of Full House and an avid follower of John Stamos‘ career, I cannot help but be moved by his recent revelation about how Bob Saget’s humor and words brought him comfort during his grieving process. It is heartwarming to know that even in the darkest of times, we can find solace in the memories and stories of those we have lost.

John Stamos shares how he dealt with the aftermath of Bob Saget, his friend and “Full House” co-star, passing away.

In a recent episode of the “Full House Rewind” podcast hosted by Dave Coulier, he shared memories of the early days following the passing of Bob Saget in January 2022.

“Have you recalled the time his book was released?” Stamos inquired of the podcast host and his ex-costar. “It was quite explicit and peculiar, I suppose. Funny enough, on the very night he passed away, I played his audio recording instead, finding solace in it. The reason behind this habit persisted, and I listened to it every night before going to bed.”

As the “Grandfathered” actor delved deeper into Saget’s tales in “Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian,” one particular story piqued his interest.

One morning I awoke with a question lingering in my mind: “Did he mention in his book that he hit his head and passed away?” I recalled pondering this thought. However, I soon dismissed it, thinking, “No, that couldn’t be the case.” Upon revisiting the text, I discovered he had jokingly mentioned something similar: “I would hit my head and call TMZ, claiming I was dying.”

“Wow,” Coulier responded, before adding that Saget left “a void” in all their lives.

Saget, who was famously known for portraying Danny Tanner in “Full House,” passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 65 as a result of head trauma. According to his family’s statement to The Hollywood Reporter, it appears that he unintentionally struck the back of his head on something, didn’t give it much thought, and subsequently went to bed.

Stamos once shared details about their last in-person meeting with Saget before his demise. According to him, they had a double date at Nobu around a month prior to Saget’s passing. Contrary to expectations, Saget didn’t seem sick during this encounter. Instead, he appeared calm, which was unusual for him. This tranquility made Stamos feel uneasy as it wasn’t typical of Saget’s character. However, Saget listened intently and showed genuine interest in their conversations, demonstrating his thoughtfulness and consideration.

“Unfortunately, the Bob I had longed to meet was the one I encountered for the last time,” the actor remarked.
