Dave Bautista Just Admitted He Tries To Sneak His Signature WWE Move Into All His Films, And Now I’m On The Lookout

As a huge fan of Dave Bautista and his impressive career transition from professional wrestling to acting, I’m thrilled to see him continue to pay homage to his wrestling roots. The inclusion of his iconic Batista Bomb move in his latest film, “My Spy: The Eternal City,” is a delightful surprise for fans like me who have followed him since his WWE days.

Currently, there’s a bloom of wrestling veterans-turned-actors experiencing great success. Among them are Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, and Dave Bautista. These three individuals have made remarkable strides in their acting careers. Although Bautista has distanced himself more from the WWE than Johnson and Cena, who have recently re-joined the organization, he remains fond of his roots and acknowledges his fans through his films.

In his latest movie, “My Spy: The Eternal City,” Dave Bautista features a combat sequence where fans of his will recognize a striking similarity. As a nod to his past as a WWE Champion, Bautista executes the iconic move he once used to secure victories in the ring – the Batista Bomb. Excited about this addition, Bautista now plans to incorporate it into every future film project he undertakes. He shared with ComicBook.com:

As a filmmaker with a rich and diverse background, I’ve always been drawn to adding little nods to my past work in my new projects. It’s like an homage to my own creative journey and a wink to my dedicated fans. While working on our latest fight scene, a nostalgic thought struck me – “Man, this would be fun!” I couldn’t help but feel the excitement of revisiting those action-packed moments from my earlier films.

I haven’t watched “My Spy: The Eternal City” myself, but I’m looking forward to spotting the Batista Bomb in the film whenever I get a chance to see it. Additionally, I’ll be on the lookout for all of Bautista’s action scenes from now on, eagerly anticipating if he executes this move again. I should also revisit his past films to see if I’ve missed any instances of the Batista Bomb.

Dave Bautista isn’t unique among professional wrestlers for incorporating his signature move into an action film. John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have similarly done so. Intriguingly, they’ve both showcased these moves in the same franchise. Notably, John Cena executed his Attitude Adjustment in “Fast X,” while Dwayne Johnson delivered a Rock Bottom to Jason Statham in “Furious 7.”

In plain language: Dave Bautista may find it challenging to incorporate his signature move, the Batista Bomb, into all of his films. Unlike many other ex-WWE stars who have predominantly acted in action movies, Batista has chosen a more diverse range of roles. Though it’s possible he could have used the Batista Bomb against James Bond, there wasn’t really a need or justification for it in “Knock at the Cabin” or “Glass Onion.”

WWE fans should not miss out on the upcoming films of Dave Bautista in 2024. He will feature in two movies – “The Killer’s Game,” an action film, and “In the Lost Lands,” a fantasy movie. Keep an eye out for more appearances by Bautista in these productions.
