Hannah Gadsby Is Bringing Stand-Up Show ‘Woof!’ to NYC

As a huge fan of Hannah Gadsby, I can’t help but be excited about their upcoming stand-up show, “WOOF!” in New York City this fall. The Australian comedian, who captured our hearts with their Emmy Award-winning 2018 Netflix special “Nanette,” is known for their raw, honest, and thought-provoking humor.

Hannah Gadsby will be performing her comedy show, titled “WOOF!“, at New York City venues this autumn. After successful runs in Australia and various US cities, the show is coming to America’s East Coast.

An Australian comedian, known for their successful 2018 Netflix special “Nanette” that brought them an Emmy Award, is reportedly set to reveal their concerns, insights, and playful side in their upcoming show.

Instead of “Most people would be trying to advance in their careers at this stage, but not Nancy. She seems to believe the world is coming to an end, so she’s opting for nostalgia rather than ambition. So, New York City, you’ll be part of a tour where Nancy will revisit many of her past experiences, including the Edinburgh Fringe, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and her cousins in Sandy Bay.”

As a seasoned performer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but be drawn back to the magnetic allure of New York City and its vibrant live comedy scene. The city that never sleeps has always held a special place in my heart, and performing here feels like coming home. But what sets this particular show apart is not just the thrill of performing in New York once again. No, this is my magnum opus, the pinnacle of my career thus far. It’s a performance that has left me utterly captivated, and I can’t help but wonder if this could be my swan song. For now, though, I choose to embrace the uncertainty and enjoy the ride. After all, isn’t that what being a performer is all about?

After the successes of “Nanette” in 2018, “Douglas” and “Body of Work” in 2019 and 2022 respectively, Hugh Gadsby makes his comeback to the New York City stage with a fresh stand-up act. This new project is helmed by director Jenney Shamash, known for her works on “Douglas,” “Something Special,” and “Gender Agenda.” Mike Lavoie and Carlee Briglia, who have previously produced shows like “Oh, Mary!” and Alex Edelman’s “Just For Us,” as well as Kate Berlant’s “KATE,” are on board to produce.

The Abrons Arts Center will host the show for a month, starting from September 27. The opening night is scheduled for October 6, and the last performance will be held on October 20. Buy your tickets now by following this link.
