I Fully Expect Deadpool 3 To Take Shots At The MCU's Recent Missteps. But I'm Still Shocked Kevin Feige Was Open About One Franchise Not Working

As a long-time fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I’ve seen it all – the highs and the lows. But the recent admission from Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, that there are no plans for a “Eternals 2” has left me in shock.

In simpler terms, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is running smoothly with new releases in cinemas and on Disney+. However, long-term fans have noticed some disappointing entries in recent years. Despite this, I’m surprised that Kevin Feige acknowledged one underperforming franchise. I believe Deadpool 3 will poke fun at the MCU’s recent setbacks.

As a long-time fan of Marvel Comics and their cinematic universe, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the upcoming encounter between Deadpool and Wolverine on the big screen. Although our knowledge about these iconic characters’ stories in the MCU is still limited, the rumors are buzzing that Ryan Reynolds will not hold back in throwing some shade at the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Deadpool 3.

As a long-time fan of Marvel movies, I’ve grown accustomed to the excitement and anticipation that comes with each new release. However, as someone who values authenticity and realistic expectations, I understand that not every film can be a sequel or a follow-up to a beloved storyline.

Feige and Marvel Studios have a reputation for keeping production details under wraps. They’re known to keep movie secrets and rarely acknowledge setbacks. It seems that Feige has no plans for continuing the saga initiated by “Eternals.” With the intriguing cliffhangers left in its wake, the resolution of the Eternals’ storyline may remain uncertain.

After hitting theaters, the reception for Eternals was less than stellar critically. Many viewers were put off by its lengthy runtime, uneven pacing, and large ensemble of new characters. Some saw this as a disappointing development following the success of Endgame, and it was just the beginning of Marvel Cinematic Universe letdowns. It’s surprising to hear Kevin Feige dismiss the idea of a sequel considering the storylines left open in its finale and the teases dropped during its end credits.

As a gamer, I’ve experienced my fair share of disappointments in the Marvel Cinatic Universe lately. It’s not just Chloé Zhao’s blockbuster that underperformed at the box office; The Marvels was such a flop that Marvel even stopped releasing its numbers. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also bombed, which is quite unusual for Marvel films. But Feige hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of more sequels or seeing those titular heroes again. And that’s what makes his comments about Eternals so intriguing.

Kevin Feige’s remarks hint towards the “Captain America: Brave New World” trailer, where we’ll discover that Tiamut’s frozen corpse, glimpsed at the end of “Eternals,” will be significant in this upcoming film. Additionally, Feige announced Kit Harington’s transformation into Black Knight and Blade’s introduction. However, it remains uncertain if these storylines will progress, such as Arishem taking half of the Eternals into space or Harry Styles portraying Eros.

Starting July 26th, the new MCU film featuring Deadpool and Wolverine titled “Deadpool & Wolverine” will be screened in theaters. In the interim, feel free to explore the upcoming movie releases slated for 2025.
