‘The Morning Show’ Books William Jackson Harper for Season 4

As a hardcore fan of top-tier television, I’m thrilled to hear that “The Morning Show” is expanding its sports desk and bringing on board none other than the brilliant William Jackson Harper! His addition to the ensemble further cements this Apple TV+ series as a must-watch.

The Morning Show is expanding its sports desk.

Apple TV+’s popular show featuring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, which has already been renewed for a fourth season, has added another notable actor to its cast. Known for his Emmy and Tony nominations, William Jackson Harper from “The Good Place” will join the series in the part of Ben. Ben is depicted as a confident and forward-thinking Head of Sports at the show’s make-believe TV network.

The lineup for The Morning Show‘s new cast is expanding. We’ve already learned that Marion Cotillard, an Academy Award winner, will join the team as the shrewd Celine Dumont. Jeremy Irons is also on board, playing Martin Levy, Alex Levy’s (Aniston’s character) father. Furthermore, Aaron Pierre from “Genius: MLK/X” has been added in a recurring role, portraying a renowned artist.

The main cast of the show features Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm, and Nicole Beharie. However, Julianna Margulies won’t be coming back for season four, although she may reappear in a later season (provided the series gets renewed beyond this point). Production on season four is ongoing, but no release date has been announced yet.

As a gamer, I’d say: In “The Morning Show,” I delve into the ruthless landscape of morning news and the individuals behind America’s morning wake-up call. The third season concluded with another jaw-dropping cliffhanger – major spoilers here! Alex Bradley, portrayed by Aniston, pulled off a shocking last-minute power move against her love interest Paul Marks, played by Hamm. With UBA and “TMS” facing a post-merger era, Alex aims to maneuver things in her favor, leaving Elon Musk-inspired tech tycoon behind. The merger left him out of the picture, leading to their breakup. However, the creative team was brainstorming ways to keep Hamm’s character part of the ensemble.

Alex’s long-term criminal accomplice Bradley Jackson, portrayed by Reese Witherspoon, is left uncertain in terms of her future whereabouts. According to showrunner Charlotte Soudt and Witherspoon’s recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), when the series comes back, it intends to move the timeline forward by two years. Despite Bradley being charged with a felony, the outcome remains uncertain as consequences may yet unfold.

In the beginning of season four, “The Morning Show” will move forward to the year 2024. Alex will take over and some of her colleagues from TMS will rise up with her. According to Aniston’s recent interview with THR, “Alex takes control, the merger goes through, and then we’ll observe how smoothly, or not, this endeavor has gone for a couple of years.” The story picks up with the world in turmoil, and Alex is unsure of Bradley’s fate. Whatever way Bradley returns, it will impact Alex’s strategy significantly, as she cares for him deeply but won’t compromise the bigger picture.

Witherspoon repeated, “Bradley enters the building to surrender, and there are countless possibilities that might have unfolded. We’re carefully considering each option.”

Kerry Ehrin created “The Morning Show,” which is overseen by Aniston and Hahn through Echo Films, as well as Witherspoon and Neustadter from Hello Sunshine, a subsidiary of Candle Media. The show is led by Mimi Leder, who holds an exclusive deal with Apple TV+ to executive produce and direct. Ellenberg also serves as an executive producer, while Media Res produces the series. Additionally, Stoudt has a long-term agreement with Apple TV+ for developing scripted television programs.

Harper has recently worked on several projects. He appeared in Netflix’s miniseries “A Man In Full,” Max’s series “Love Life,” and Marvel’s film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in theaters. Currently, he is performing in Broadway’s production of “Uncle Vanya.” Harper is represented by UTA, AC Management, Jill Fritzo PR, and Jackoway Austen.
