Jennifer Garner Got Stuck in an Elevator at Comic-Con for Over an Hour

As a seasoned gamer and avid follower of Hollywood news, I have to admit, Jennifer Garner’s Comic-Con debut turned out to be quite the rollercoaster ride, unlike any level I’ve experienced in my favorite video games. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw her getting stuck in an elevator at Comic-Con for over an hour!

Jennifer Garner‘s first trip to Comic-Con didn’t go as smoothly as expected.

On Saturday, the actress shared her unexpected adventure on Instagram, detailing her over-an-hour ordeal of being trapped in an elevator at the San Diego Convention Center. She posted a succession of videos with captions indicating the duration of our predicament, humorously titling them as “Baby’s first Comic Con: a short story.”

At Thursday night’s screening of “Deadpool & Wolverine” at Comic-Con, Garner made an unexpected appearance.

In the initial video, Garner joked about being in need of help two minutes into the predicament, saying, “I’d really benefit from having Wolverine or Deadpool here. Or anyone, actually. We’re trying to find some stairs.”

Eleven minutes had passed when Garner announced in a new clip that the temperature was becoming uncomfortable and they were coordinating with assistance to continue. “I’m sweating profusely,” the actress expressed, visibly glistening. “We’re warned not to touch the blue wire.”

In a different part of the video, around the 35-minute mark, Garner shared why they were seated: She mentioned having heard on an episode of “The Office” or “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (or something similar) that one should sit, so they were complying. At approximately 41 minutes into the video, Garner is seen dancing and singing the song “99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer…”

At the 45-minute point, they found it necessary to dial 911 for assistance. Yet, a member of Garner’s group remarked that their location was actually in San Diego, prompting Garner to reply with surprise, “I assumed we were in Las Vegas.”

At the hour mark, things took a turn as we heard beeping sounds and the elevator lights went back on. To spread positivity, Garner started humming Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.”

The elevator doors opened after an hour and twelve minutes, as depicted in Garner’s footage, eliciting shrieks of joy from her and the team upon seeing what appeared to be firefighters waiting inside.

Garner was able to make it to the panel despite the mishap.

In July last year, it was announced by The Hollywood Reporter that the actress would be reprising her role as Marvel Comics’ antiheroine assassin Elektra for Deadpool 3. This will be Garner’s first appearance in this character since a break of almost 20 years. Garner originally portrayed the Marvel assassin in 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil, released in 2003 and featuring Ben Affleck as the lead.
