As a seasoned gamer with a deep appreciation for immersive environments and unique designs, I’m absolutely thrilled about The Malin’s new venture into Nashville. Having spent countless hours in various gaming worlds, I can’t help but draw parallels between the meticulously crafted virtual spaces and this real-life work-focused members club.

The Malin has expanded by opening a new store in Nashville, with interior designs brought to life by Róisín Lafferty based in Dublin.

At the heart of South Gulch, The Malin identifies as a professional members club with a strong focus on productivity. This exclusive venue is designed to offer local professionals an upscale atmosphere. With its 58 workstations, seven private offices, five conference rooms, ten phone enclosures, a well-stocked library, and a functional kitchen, The Malin provides ample facilities for individuals seeking a premium work environment.

As a big fan of Lafferty’s work, I’m thrilled that this project marks her first foray into the US scene. For this endeavor, she chose to honor the historical essence of the 1945-built structure, while simultaneously infusing it with the vibrant energy of its youthful surroundings.

In various parts of the universe, large sculptures and pieces blend the boundary between artistic creations and functional furnishings. The design incorporates an intricate pattern influenced by regional architecture, transformed into a stylish vertical stripe, coated with shiny lacquer, adorned with burl wood, and embellished with graphic carpets.

In simpler terms, the room is filled with plenty of natural light due to its wide window setup, allowing sunlight to flow freely. Additional lighting comes from lamps obtained from brands such as Bover and Santa & Cole for times when extra brightness is required.

In a modern industrial setting, cement floors are enhanced with decorative rugs for added warmth. Alongside visible air ducts, this creates an appealing post-industrial style. Common areas boast durable surfaces such as solid oak, marble, and limestone, paired with seating upholstered in Yarwood leather and Pierre Frey fabrics. In contrasting spaces, high-gloss lacquer, burl wood, textured glass, steel, bronze, and marble details are implemented.

Lafferty expressed his desire to showcase The Malin’s lively and dynamic character, along with our signature boldness and pep. The design boasts an intentional flair for drama and spectacle, fitting for the building’s unique locale.

Ciarán McGuigan, the Founder and CEO, expressed his pleasure: “Working with Róisín Lafferty and her team was a delight. We’re thrilled to introduce renowned Irish design to the US market, and we look forward to creating a second Nashville branch that embodies its local charm.”
