Sharib Hashmi reveals what to expect from The Family Man Season 3

Recently, I had the thrill of being interviewed by Digital Commentary, and during our chat, I couldn’t help but share some of my journey in Bollywood before finally breaking through. I also had the pleasure of discussing my profound connection with the incredible Manoj Bajpayee, as well as my unforgettable experience working alongside the legendary Shah Rukh Khan in Jab Tak Hai Jaan. It was truly an honor to reminisce about these moments and share them with you all!

In our casual conversation, he shared that the excitement levels from previous seasons will remain, but this time around, the challenges are more intense. When asked about the progress of the third installment of the hit series, he revealed they’ve only begun filming it.

Sharib Hashmi on auditioning for Jab Tak Hai Jaan

When discussing his challenges in the industry and how he took on various jobs to keep going, he also mentioned making a short film called Mehrooni that didn’t bring him any income. However, it led to him securing a role in the movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma – Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Reflecting on the past, he reminisced about trying out for the Yash Chopra film. Labeling it as a ‘unique production’, the actor from the Fighter shared that he believes everything fell into place so he could secure the role of Zain Mirza in the movie. He recollected going through multiple rounds of auditions and performing scenes previously done by Vinay Pathak from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi during these trials. It was in the final round, the fourth one, where he finally got a chance to portray Zain and demonstrate his talent.

Following a few days, Sharib received a phone call from someone who shared news that a promising young artist had been chosen for the role instead. Despite feeling disheartened, Sharib managed to keep his spirits up and pressed on with his current tasks. However, a week later, he got another call – this time it was from Yash Raj Films, the production company behind the movie, which is run by Aditya Chopra.

After delivering his final audition, Sharib received a call within half an hour confirming that he had landed the role. Overjoyed and curious, he was told to report for shooting in just two days. “I couldn’t help but get carried away (excited) thinking about what was happening,” he chuckled.

Additionally, during the conversation, the actor disclosed that after securing Jab Tak Hai Jaan, he was additionally presented with the opportunity for Filmistaan. Given his leading role in Nitin Kakkar’s film, he harbored great expectations for it. Interestingly, this movie turned out to be one of the most remarkable performances of his career. Moreover, it received acclaim, winning the Best Feature Film in Hindi category at the 60th National Film Awards in 2012.

The film had been shown at numerous domestic and international film festivals. Exactly two years afterwards, it hit theaters nationwide in 2014.
