According to The Hollywood Reporter, other notable names on this list include Bob Chapek, the former CEO of The Walt Disney Company, and Bear Gryllis, a TV personality who hosted Carano on an episode of his reality series, Running Wild.
Each person named in the documents had some sort of professional or personal relationship with the ex-Cara Dune actress. Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy were her bosses during her time on The Mandalorian (a popular show for Disney+ subscribers). Additionally, she worked alongside the actor who originally played Djarin during the first two seasons of the show. Lastly, Bob Chapek was in charge at Disney when the Fast & Furious 6 actress was let go.
The trade additionally discloses that the legal documents outline disputed aspects in the case, including: First, if Gina Carano was indeed contractually bound during her termination in February 2021; second, whether she experienced fair treatment concerning her social media behavior compared to her male counterparts on set. In response to the lawsuit, Disney defended its actions by asserting their right under the First Amendment to separate their artistic messages from Carano’s political views. The company’s legal documents hinted that they had long felt it necessary to end their association with Carano following a post she made, which seemed to equate being criticized for one’s politics with the Holocaust-era persecution of Jewish people.
Gina Carano has been open about the ongoing lawsuit with her former colleagues and admitted it’s embarrassing for such a public dispute. She also addressed media speculation about her potential return to The Mandalorian, although the future remains uncertain. As of now, Carano is scheduled for court on September 25, 2025, and it’s yet to be determined if Pedro Pascal and other parties will be required to testify before that date.
