The Hollywood Reporter and SAG-AFTRA Announce the Return of Emmy Nominees Night Event

As a seasoned gamer with years of immersion in virtual worlds and countless hours spent in front of screens big and small, I must say, the return of the Emmy Nominees Night event is like stepping into a new level of my favorite role-playing game! The glitz, the glamour, the Hollywood power players – it’s all too real, yet feels strangely familiar.

On a Friday, The Hollywood Reporter and SAG-AFTRA declared the resumption of their star-studded Emmy Nominees Party.

SAG-AFTRA and THR are partnering once more to jointly organize an exciting gathering, happening during the Emmys weekend. Heineken Silver is lending its support as a sponsor for this event. This collaboration signifies the return of both SAG-AFTRA and Heineken, who have consistently backed this special occasion throughout the years.

As a longtime resident of Los Angeles, I have attended my fair share of events held at various venues throughout the city. However, I must admit that this year’s Emmy Nominees Night party is one that I am particularly excited about. The event will be held at the Stanley II mansion, a stunning piece of modern architecture that overlooks the city.

The annual gathering, typically graced by current and past Emmy recipients, influential figures in Hollywood, and other notable personalities, had a hiatus last year due to the ongoing actors’ and writers’ strikes. (Notably, the 2023 Emmys were postponed last year because of these strikes and eventually held in January this year.)

A variety of stars and nominees who have graced the event in previous years include Andrew Garfield, Quinta Brunson, Tony Shalhoub, Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Sterling K. Brown, Natasha Lyonne, Niecy Nash, Sarah Snook, Keegan-Michael Key, Aaron Paul, Rachel Zegler, Nicholas Braun, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and others, such as Bradley Whitford and Hannah Einbinder.

The announcement of the Emmy nominations for 2024, made by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on July 17, has brought news that the event is returning. In this year’s nominations, FX’s ‘Shogun’ stands out with a remarkable 25 nominations (setting several records), followed closely by FX’s ‘The Bear’ with 23 nominations (a record for comedy series). Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building’ received 21 nominations, while HBO/Max’s ‘True Detective: Night Country’ and Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ each earned 19 and 18 nominations respectively.

The Emmy Awards for the year 2024 will air live this coming Sunday, September 15th, from 8 to 11 PM Eastern Time (ET) or 5 to 8 PM Pacific Time (PT), on ABC television network. You can also catch the stream the following day on Hulu. At this point, a host for the event has not been revealed yet.
