As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for K-pop and high fashion, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the sight of BTS’ Jin becoming Gucci’s latest global brand ambassador! His journey, from carrying the Olympic torch to gracing the catwalk of one of the world’s most iconic fashion houses, is nothing short of inspiring.
In simpler terms, Jin from the popular K-pop group BTS has been chosen to be the new representative for the well-established Italian fashion brand Gucci. As a global brand ambassador, Jin will be present at significant events and feature in upcoming marketing materials for the label.
During numerous public events, Jin has proudly worn items that are iconic to the Gucci brand. He expressed his admiration for their long history coupled with contemporary style, stating, “Being a part of such an esteemed house is both significant and exciting.”
Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, noted that Jin possesses an appealing warmth and kindness, and his fashion sense is exceptionally distinctive. He is a gracious and exceptional artist who can emotionally move people through music, making it all the more special for us to collaborate on this venture with him.
As the honored bearer of the Olympic torch for South Korea in Paris just recently, I (Jin) have become the first BTS member to complete my military service obligation in June. The news of my discharge coincides with Gucci’s strategic move to deepen their connection with South Korea, as they prepare for a “Gucci Cultural Month” initiative this October aimed at celebrating Korean culture and traditions. It is truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful collaboration that highlights the richness of our shared heritage.
Most recently, Jin has become a part of Gucci’s group of artists. Now, he stands alongside Hanni, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park as one of the label’s representatives.
