Blake Lively on Using Taylor Swift Song “My Tears Ricochet” in ‘It Ends With Us’

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for movies based on novels, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation for the upcoming release of “It Ends With Us”. The involvement of Taylor Swift and Blake Lively in this project has piqued my interest, not just because of their star power, but also due to their close friendship and mutual creative synergy.

Audience members have swiftly noticed that Taylor Swift’s track “My Tears Ricochet” has been featured in the trailer for “It Ends With Us“, and Blake Lively acknowledges that Swift’s entire discography might have been suitable for the movie.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but get excited when my idol and close friend Taylor Swift’s BFF, the talented actress and film producer, unveiled her latest project in New York City on Tuesday. Stepping onto the red carpet in an iconic Versace dress that Britney Spears had worn before, she sparked curiosity about the collaboration. When questioned by The Hollywood Reporter about why they selected “My Tears Ricochet” for the trailer and her role within the film itself, she replied, “Taylor’s songs are all phenomenal; we could have chosen any one of them. We could have even used a voice memo as the best song ever featured in a movie.”

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share an exciting piece of news: “My Tears Ricochet,” a song from Taylor Swift’s 2020 album “Folklore,” was destined for the big screen. This was hinted at by Justin Baldoni, the director and co-star, who mentioned at the premiere of “The Garfield Movie” in May that Blake Lively was the one to secure the song for the movie. In his own words, he gave all credit to Blake, stating, “I’m sure that was all Blake.”

The movie is based on Colleen Hoover’s popular novel with the same title and portrays Lily Bloom (Lively), a woman who triumphs over a difficult childhood, starting a fresh chapter in life. During her journey, she develops a romantic interest in charismatic neurosurgeon Ryle (Baldoni). However, as time passes, aspects of him start to resemble her parents’ relationship dynamics.

“In truth, the on-screen work for this film was less demanding than the off-screen work due to its complexity, as Lively explained when discussing the project’s adaptation. She admitted to enjoying a good challenge, and she’s incredibly proud of every aspect of it. The team experienced a full range of human emotions throughout the process, and she takes great pride in their journey.”

It Ends With Us is in theaters on Friday.
