Veteran James Gunn Actor Addresses Their Chances Of Joining The DC Universe

As a film enthusiast with over three decades of cinema-going under my belt, I can confidently say that Flula Borg is an actor to watch out for in the DC Universe. Having had the pleasure of witnessing his energetic performance as Javelin in “The Suicide Squad,” I find myself eagerly awaiting any opportunity to see him collaborate with James Gunn once more.

James Gunn, now jointly overseeing DC Studios, has built a reputation for often working with a select circle of actors. One such performer is Flula Borg, who expresses his desire to collaborate with Gunn once more in the upcoming DC Universe. Borg initially teamed up with Gunn on “The Suicide Squad,” where he portrayed the minor hero Javelin. Equipped with an exceptional ability to throw a javelin effectively, this character met his end during Task Force X’s inaugural mission. Later, Borg joined forces with Gunn again for a brief role in the “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” playing a Bartender who was interrogated by Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff).

As of now, there’s no official confirmation that Flula Borg will be a part of any DC Studios projects. However, during an interview with Screen Rant, Borg expressed interest in collaborating with James Gunn once more within the DC Universe. Borg spoke highly of Gunn and enjoyed his time working together. In his own words: “I’d love to work with Gunn again in the DC Universe – he was fantastic to work with!”

As a math enthusiast who has had the privilege of working with James Gunn, I can confidently say that my experiences under his guidance have been nothing short of extraordinary. The opportunity to delve into the intricacies of his mind, much like exploring a captivating world, is an experience that has left a lasting impression on me. In this realm, James Gunn’s creativity and vision are as boundless as the cosmos itself. I dare say that the chances of encountering someone with such talent and passion for storytelling are greater than zero, but the likelihood of finding another quite like him is slim to none. So, if you ever get a chance to work or collaborate with James Gunn, seize it – it’s an opportunity not to be missed!

Where Flula Borg Could Appear in the DC Universe

In “The Suicide Squad,” the character Javelin made an appearance, inspired by James Gunn’s affection for less-frequently used comic book characters. This passion transformed the relatively unpopular 1969 comics series “Guardians of the Galaxy” into a multi-billion dollar franchise. Applying this approach to “The Suicide Squad,” Gunn introduced a similar dynamic, with Javelin being one of many little-known heroes featured in the film. Unfortunately, during their first mission depicted in the movie, many unknown characters (including Javelin) perished, making it unlikely that Borg’s Javelin would reappear in the original DC Universe timeline.

James Gunn’s fresh plans for the DC Universe involve resetting the timeline. If Flula Borg were to reprise his role as Javelin in future projects, there are several possibilities where he could make an appearance. It seems unlikely that Borg will feature in Gunn’s first DC Universe film, Superman, as principal photography has already been completed and no signs of Borg have been spotted on leaked set photos. A more feasible scenario for Javelin’s return could be in the upcoming series, Waller, starring Viola Davis. This show finds Davis reprising her role as the leader of Task Force X. Given that Javelin was part of the disbanded team in the previous DCEU, it seems most probable that he would appear here if he were to appear in live-action again.

In this scenario, it’s assumed that Flula Borg might reprise his role as Javelin in the fresh DC Universe, created by Gunn. Yet, considering the abundance of characters at Gunn’s disposal for his upcoming DC projects, there’s a chance that Borg could be portraying any one of them. We’ve witnessed Nathan Fillion playing multiple roles within Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, so it’s plausible that Gunn has other characters in mind for Borg to play in the new DC Universe continuity.
