As a long-time player of Dokkan Battle, I must say that this tier list truly reflects the current meta of the game. The top three units – TEQ Goku, PHY God Goku, and Piccolo Jr. – are undeniably the cream of the crop, each possessing unique strengths that make them formidable in any battle.

To put it frankly, there’s no denying the existence of power imbalance in this game. This implies that freshly introduced characters often surpass their predecessors in strength. Consequently, the game’s dominant strategies (meta) are constantly evolving, making it quite difficult for players returning after a break to keep pace.

As a dedicated Dokkan Battle fan myself, I undoubtedly have my personal tier list ingrained in my gaming spirit, and it’s unlikely to be altered. However, I hope this article serves as a valuable insight for novice players (and perhaps returning ones) to grasp the current landscape of the game more effectively.

I say the current state of the game because you never know when
will decide to release a new Extreme-Z Awakening (EZA) or something that will change everything completely. Remember when this Goku was considered to be the best unit in the game? Well, it feels like it’s been a while since then.
Of course, ranking every unit in the Dokkan would make no sense for various reasons but most importantly, you just want to know which are the very best units in the game right? So, we’ve decided to rank the top 10 best LR units in Dokkan Battle and also, the 10 best TUR.

For any beginners questioning what ‘TUR’ signifies, let me clarify. TUR stands for Transcended Ultra Rare. This means the character has undergone Dokkan Awakening from a Level 100 UR, and can surpass Level 120 and Super Attack (SA) beyond 10.

With that out of the way, let’s get into our Dokkan Battle tier list.

Let’s talk about the top 5 LR characters that are cream of the Dokkan Battle tier list.

The extraordinary pairing of Universe’s Last Hope Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta demonstrates a formidable team. Nevertheless, their defensive capabilities lag behind other characters on this roster. Despite their ability to withstand multiple superattacks without much strain, the challenge lies in that they can deal fatal blows before reaching that defensive phase. However, when it comes to offensive prowess, they might surpass the power of the blue fusions.

Ultimate and Invincible Fusion Vegito
are essentially the same units and thus, we have to rank them together. Once they get their blue transformation these two can melt any boss.
Piccolo
had been absent from the meta for a long time. But this variant…wow. He can carry your entire squad after he transforms into the orange Piccolo since he can defend your other units. This Piccolo is a defensive beast with plenty of offensive potential. The ki support he offers is also crucial.

As a dedicated gamer, I gotta say, it’s a tough call between Bulma and the GT duo, but let me tell you, Goku and SSJ 4 Vegeta are just off-the-charts amazing! There’s no need for lengthy explanations about their skills.

We had to leave out some powerful and popular units. Beast Gohan, AGL Gohan, Super Buu, didn’t find their way into our top 10. The reason is that the units that did make it onto our list, are simply better.

To begin with, “Cooler” stands out as the top-notch villain within the game. Admittedly, this assertion might not seem impressive at first glance given that Super units are frequently showered with powerful buffs. However, this observation underscores his remarkable strength. His main drawback lies in the absence of a truly exceptional team, which prevents him from being rated even higher.

Gohan can take the toughest punches from the game’s hardest bosses without problems. Even with an element disadvantage, he’s just that good of a tank. He stacks defense a bit better than the duo and his hp regen can literally win you the battle.

Contrarily, Vegeta and Trunks continue to excel defensively up to this point. However, there’s a condition that they should occupy the first position following a turn five to perform their protective role.

It’s challenging to distinguish between TEQ Goku and the pair of INT Vegeta / Trunks. Despite having different kits, they share many similarities. What sets Goku apart is his ability to protect for up to six turns, a feature that often proves more than sufficient in most battles.

Gamma 1 feels like a gatekeeper to the top five TUR in Dokkan Battle. He’s just great all around, a very solid unit and he should not be underestimated.
Kale is pretty amazing and if she had a better team, she might be even higher. But she doesn’t have and the truth is that she needs protection until she transforms. Once she transforms, she’s easily one of the very best characters in the whole game.

If given some assistance from other units, this particular Kale variant could climb even higher in the rankings. To be honest, I’ve been partial to her for quite a while now, but when she transforms, she truly dominates any battle. However, it should be noted that she does require help to reach that point.

There’s not a lot to say about our top 3 units on this part of a tier list.

TEQ Goku – once he revives he turns into a beast. Granted, his conditions are not the easiest to meet but hey, many units suffer from this.
PHY God Goku is super in terms of defense and offense and he also has a great link set.
Piccolo Jr. is simply an overpowered unit that can carry various teams and make them look stronger than they really are.

We start our top 10 with Super 17. We could argue this card’s placement on the list, but no matter how we slice it, it couldn’t be much higher. Remember, these are the best TUR in the game, so we have to judge them accordingly.
Super 17’s biggest problem is that it’s very, very hard to truly unlock this card’s potential. There are not that many great teams that it fits, and not any amazing rotations either. Don’t get me started with all the restrictions and conditions.
Yamcha is pretty impressive at the start of the battle but once the buff wears off, the drop-off in performance is significant. He does much better in short-duration battles.
Turles – for such an expensive card we’d expect more. It has high damage potential if everything aligns, but at the same time, he might get you killed.
Gamma 2 is just a good solid card all around. It has decent damage and support, especially when it’s next to Gamma 1 on the same rotation.
