As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for sneakers that mirrors my passion for virtual worlds, I can’t help but get excited about the latest drops in the real world! The New Balance 991v2 has been making waves since its debut, and now, it’s about to get even more exciting with Salehe Bembury’s collaboration.
Within less than a year, New Balance unveiled the 991v2 as a lifestyle running shoe, collaborating with Stone Island for the debut. Since then, a steady stream of projects featuring this shoe has been launched, and the most recent addition is the “City Edition” pack, exclusive to certain regions.
Salehe Bembury has unveiled on Instagram that he will be partnering with a brand to work on the 991v2 shoe model. He gave a sneak peek of this collaboration at Copenhagen Fashion Week, where he handed out some free pairs of his upcoming project featuring the 530 sneaker. In our two-image preview, we can see that the first version of the 991v2 is adorned with a rough purple suede material on its upper. The tongue tag showcases royal blue, accented with orange branding from both parties. Other colors added to the design include green lining, off-white midsole, gray toe overlays, black outsole and “N” logo outlines, as well as a splash of lime green at the toe area.
Currently, neither New Balance nor Salehe Bembury have disclosed any specifics about their forthcoming collaboration on the 991v2. Keep an eye out for announcements with more details, such as a closer inspection of the shoes and release information, since we anticipate it to hit stores within the next few months, priced around $250 USD, available through New Balance and selected retailers.
