Travis Scott Arrested in Paris After Alleged Assault on Security Guard

As a long-time fan of Travis Scott and his electrifying performances, I must admit that this latest news has left me both stunned and saddened. The Travis Scott I know is a larger-than-life figure, a creative genius who pours his heart and soul into every beat, every lyric, every performance. But it seems that off-stage, he’s been grappling with some personal demons.

French officials have reported that they arrested rapper Travis Scott following an incident where a security officer was allegedly assaulted at the luxurious George V hotel early on Friday.

“On August 9, 2024, it’s been confirmed that police officers were dispatched to the George V hotel, where they apprehended the rapper known as Travis Scott for allegedly assaulting a security personnel,” stated an officer from the Paris prosecutor’s office.

It is reported that Scott is accused of assaulting a security guard who was trying to stop a fight between him and his bodyguard. According to the prosecutor’s office, “the security guard had actually intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard.” The case has been handed over to the 1st district of the judicial police in Paris for investigation.

French investigators have initiated a criminal probe concerning alleged acts of violence towards the guard, without specifying the nature of the violence.

In the earlier part of the night, Scott went to watch the semi-final of the men’s Olympics basketball game. The French team triumphed over Germany, securing a spot against the U.S. in the final. On X, Scott expressed his excitement about the match by saying, “It was absolutely thrilling!” or simply, “What a rollercoaster ride that match was!”

According to sources near the event, as reported by FranceInfo radio network, it seemed that at the hotel, Scott was noticeably intoxicated and restless, and he refused to comply when asked to take a breathalyzer test.

Approximately two months ago, a ten-time Grammy award recipient was taken into custody in Miami due to an altercation involving disorderly conduct while intoxicated and unlawful entry onto a rented yacht after an argument with the boat crew. Scott was granted bail following the payment of a $500 bond for the intoxication charge and $150 for trespassing. His legal representative explained that the event was just a case of miscommunication.

Scott has not yet commented on the Paris arrest. His team did not immediately respond to comment.
