As a gamer who’s been through countless virtual worlds and musical genres, I must say, Kali Uchis’ latest release, ORQUÍDEAS PARTE 2, has been a refreshing addition to my summer soundtrack. It’s like she’s taken me on a journey from the neon-lit streets of Los Santos (GTA V) to the serene landscapes of Riolumar (Red Dead Redption 2), all while keeping my feet tapping and my spirits high.

In the year 2024, Colombian singer Kali Uchis launched her musical journey by releasing her second Spanish album titled “ORQUÍDEAS.” This album serves as a continuation of her 2020 release, “Sin miedo (del amor y otros demonios) ∞.” In the creation of “ORQUÍDEAS,” Uchis collaborated with artists such as KAROL G, Rauw Alejandro, and Peso Pluma on tracks like “Igual Que Un Ángel.” This 14-track project was embraced by fans as a departure from her 2023 hit “Red Moon in Venus,” marking a fresh change in her sound.

Over the summer, the music group ORQUÍDEAS released their unique sound. Recently, Uchis revealed that an ORQUÍDEAS PART 2 was imminent at the start of the month, without disclosing further details, except for hinting a KAYTRANADA remix of “Young Rich & In Love.” As promised, it’s now available as an extended album. Four additional tracks have been added to the end of ORQUÍDEAS, with “Dame Beso // Muévete” still serving as the closing song. The anticipated KAYTRANADA remix of “Young Rich & In Love” adds a new rhythm, while the other three songs, “Adicto,” “Simple,” and “Como Debe Ser,” are reportedly demos, according to the LA Times.
